I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Guajara Modern Studio on the eighth floor of this towering building on Avenida Familia de Betancourt y Molina, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds pretty fancy, but Puerto de la Cruz can be hit or miss with these newer places. Turns out, this one’s actually worth the elevator ride up.

The studio itself lives up to that “modern” part of its name – clean lines, decent kitchen setup, and windows that actually open properly (you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong). What really got me though was stepping out onto that balcony. I mean, you’re on the eighth floor looking out over Puerto de la Cruz, and on a clear day you can see straight to the ocean. The building’s positioned just right so you’re not staring directly into your neighbor’s breakfast routine, which is always a plus. The area’s pretty quiet too, especially compared to the main tourist strips closer to Playa Jardín. You’ll hear some street noise during the day – it’s still a city after all – but nothing that’ll keep you up at night.

Here’s what I really appreciate about this place: it feels like someone actually thought about how people live, not just how they sleep. The kitchen’s got proper counter space for more than just making coffee, there’s storage that makes sense, and the shower has decent water pressure (honestly, that’s rarer than it should be in Tenerife). The whole setup works whether you’re here for a few days or planning to settle in for a week or two. And you know what? The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but it delivers on what it promises. The building’s got character without being run-down, and the location puts you close enough to walk to the old town when you want that authentic Canarian vibe, but far enough that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every morning.

Parking can be a bit of a dance in this part of town – the streets are narrow and locals know all the good spots – but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the folks managing the place actually seem to know Puerto de la Cruz beyond just the tourist highlights. They’ll point you toward the better local restaurants instead of the obvious tourist traps. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like temporarily living in Puerto de la Cruz rather than just visiting it, this studio gets it right.

  The studio is in an excellent location. Short distance to the beach, Martianez Pools and tons of bars and restaurants. The building has also a lovely Indian restaurant!
  Flat has great facilities, check in/check out, very smooth. Lisa was very good and they provided daily suggestions around the area – what came in so handy.
  Flat very clean, organized and the best bed/mattress ever. We would definitely recommend it and we surely will be back again.

  We really appreaciated the comfort and cleanliness of the studio. The locality is great, very close to the beach and the pool area. The are several good restaurants nearby. The child bed and a highchair was prepared for us. The appartment had air-conditioning, and kitchen was well equiped. In summary, our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable.
