Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – the Frontline Penthouse is one of those spots that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once you’re up there, you get why it’s called a penthouse. El Pris isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot (honestly, most people just drive right through it heading to Tacoronte), but that’s actually what makes this place work. You’re literally sitting on the coastline here, and I mean literally – the waves are right there below you, especially when the Atlantic gets moody in the evenings. The building itself is pretty standard Canarian architecture, nothing fancy, but the top floor unit has these massive windows that frame the ocean like you’re living inside a postcard. Well, if postcards included the sound of waves hitting rocks at 2am, which some people love and others… don’t.
What really surprised me was how well-equipped everything is for a 3-star place. VV Canary Ocean Homes clearly knows what they’re doing – the kitchen actually has decent knives (you know how rare that is in vacation rentals), and there’s this great little terrace where you can have your morning coffee while watching the fishing boats head out from nearby harbors. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s beach house than a typical hotel room. El Pris itself is pretty quiet, which means you’re not dealing with the usual tourist chaos, but you’re still only about 15 minutes from Tacoronte if you need actual restaurants and shops. The coastal road can get a bit windy – I mean weather-wise, not just the curves – so pack a light jacket even in summer. One thing that caught me off guard was how dark it gets at night out here; there’s not much street lighting along this stretch of Carretera el Pris, but honestly, that just makes the stars more incredible.
The whole experience feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find on the islands. You’re not in some resort bubble – you’re staying where actual Canarians might have a weekend place. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be spotty, and don’t expect concierge service), but it delivers on what it promises. If you’re the type who needs to be within walking distance of everything, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up to the sound of waves, spend your days exploring the less touristy parts of Tenerife’s north coast, and have a genuinely peaceful base to come back to, then yeah, this penthouse thing actually works. Just remember to stock up on groceries in Tacoronte before you settle in – the nearest proper supermarket isn’t exactly a quick walk away.

This apartment must be chosen for thia astonishing view – Carl from Germany – 9 March 2025 (7/10)
The view is a 10/10!!! No matter if from the terrace or the living room. This is definitely a reason to stay in this apartment!
What could be improved: The wardrobes smell so badly that you can’t use them. The baby bed we got was stored in one of those and was barely usable.
The other bed is not very big, as the whole apartment is quite small.Beautiful, but… – Tobias from Germany – 19 February 2025 (6/10)
Its a beautiful well renovated apartment, a mix of vintage and modern style. It is really well equiped, you wont miss anything. You look on the coast and main street of the village. People hang around, kids play and restaurants and bars are crowded at daytime, but close roughly around 8pm. Then you only hear the sea. We got a bottle of wine and fresh fuits at arrival.
Bed is good, entertainment and kitchen electrics and washing mashine works fine. The rooftop is great, sun comes around from 11am till sunset in February.
Rental personal responses immediately, friendly and professional. We got contamined kettle and pans exchanged first day.
What could be improved: The apartment was not well cleaned, everywhere. The floor had lots of dust, broken glass too. Dishes were dirty from past food. Heavy flavors are placed everywhere against other smells. The bed room and bed linen had a musty smell and felt a little humid. Other peoples hair was in the bathroom. Other peoples hygenic stuff filled bathroom stores.
Thats for all owners or rental companys, please care about 100% cleaning or check it if done by service company! All magic and happyness is gone if you come into dirty accomodation. The day of arrival is no good day anymore and using bed linen, towels, kitchen and bathroom gives a bad feeling in terms of hygene.
Sadly some birds are locked up in the backyard by a neighbor, so you can not air the bedrooms very well due to pets smells. Thats just the case, its private life, I do not judge this.
This issues drop the rating down to 6 and thats surely fair.Posto super! – Alessio from Italy – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
