Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Finca Doña Juana, I wasn’t sure what to expect. You’re driving up this winding road from Santa Cruz toward Icod, and suddenly there’s this traditional Canarian finca tucked into the hillside around kilometer 42. It’s not flashy or pretentious, just this authentic stone and wood building that feels like it’s been part of the landscape forever. The parking is straightforward (thank god, because some of these mountain roads are nightmare tight), and you can already smell the pine and eucalyptus from the surrounding forests before you even get your bags out.

What really got me was how the owners – and I mean, you can tell these are people who actually live and breathe this place – have managed to keep everything feeling genuinely local while still being comfortable for travelers. The rooms have that perfect balance of rustic charm and modern basics, you know? Thick stone walls that keep things naturally cool during the day, and honestly, the silence at night is incredible. No traffic noise, no city hum, just the occasional rustle of wind through the trees. I slept better there than I had in months. The bathrooms are updated but not sterile, and there’s this lovely terrace area where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the mist roll through the valleys below. You’re high enough up that you get these glimpses of the ocean between the pine trees, especially in the early morning light.

The location is actually perfect if you want to explore the real Tenerife – not just the resort strips down by the coast. You’re about fifteen minutes from Icod de los Vinos (where that famous thousand-year-old dragon tree is), and it’s an easy drive to some of the best hiking trails in the area. The owners know all the local spots and will point you toward trails that most tourists never find. Plus, being on the northern side of the island, you’re in this completely different microclimate – greener, more temperate, with these incredible views of the Orotava Valley. I spent one evening just sitting on their terrace watching the sunset paint the mountains different shades of orange and purple, and I mean, you can’t put a price on that kind of peace. It’s a 3-star place technically, but honestly, the experience feels much more special than that rating suggests – sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about how great they are.

  This place is located on the north of Tenerife and the weather there is so comfortable, it’s not too hot, there is always fresh wind from the ocean. The apartments has everything you need an even more. There is a beautiful beach near, you can easily reach it in just 5 minutes. It has an amazing view to the ocean from bedroom and a leaving room. There is a fruit garden right upfront apartment and you are allowed to take any fruit that you want.

  The property was beautiful with incredible sea views. Emilio greeted us with a very friendly and warm greeting (and we were so grateful for the bowl of fruit – being able to make fresh orange juice each morning was such a treat!)
  
  We were in Tenerife for a week exploring the local area and this was a fantastic place to have as our base. Being able to come back, cook for ourselves and relax around the property was great, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we go back.

  The location is wonderful! Quiet, surrounded by fruit trees and palms overseeing the ocean and yet close to one of the main roads of the island (TF5) so it is easy to move around. There is a private path with nice view points that takes you down to the beach of black sand below the house. Nice private space outside the house for breakfast and relaxing. It is best to have an auto to move around easier, however there is a bus stop nearby. We definitely recommend this place!!!
  
  What could be improved: The bed is very hard….could be uncomfortable if you are not used to sleep on a hard mattress.

  Lieu exceptionnel pour son site avec jardin paradisiaque avec palmiers,bananiers,vue sur la mer,accès à pied à une très belle plage à 7mn.Accueil très chaleureux d Emilio.La maison ancienne a beaucoup de charme,au milieu de ce grand parc avec de nombreux arbres fruitiers splendides.

  Die Finca ist ein absolutes Paradies, wenn man authentischen tenerfinischen Lebensstil sucht. Wir wurden super herzlich empfangen mit einer großen Schale Obst und frischen Blumen. Der Strand war sehr einfach zu erreichen. Die Unterkunft war perfekt ausgestattet, insbesondere was die Küche angeht!!!

  Wunderschöne Unterkunft in traumhafter Lage mit einem herrlichen Blick auf das Meer. Nachts hört man nur die Brandung. Das Haus ist sehr authentisch, makellos sauber, mit Liebe und Geschmack dekoriert und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Dazu leckeres frisches Obst von der Plantage. Gleich nebenan hat man Strand und einen schönen Küstenweg nach Puerto de la Cruz. Die Lage ist sehr gut geeignet für Ausflüge im Norden Teneriffas mit dem Mietwagen. Emilio ist ein sehr freundlicher und unkomplizierter Gastgeber – noch einmal danke für diese wunderbare Zeit!

  Eine wunderschön rustikal eingerichtete Finca. Mitten in einer Obstplantage und nur 10 Minuten zum Strand.
  Außerdem ein sehr netter Gastgeber 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Es war alles super! Für mich persönlich war die Matratze etwas zu hart, aber das empfindet jeder unterschiedlich.
