You know what hit me first about the Fantastic Bungalow? The name’s a bit cheesy, honestly, but once you walk into this place on Avenida Arquitecto Gómez Cuesta, you sort of get it. It’s tucked away just enough from the main chaos of Playa de Las Américas that you’re not dealing with the drunk British lads stumbling past your window at 3 AM, but you’re still close enough to walk to everything that matters. I mean, you’re literally five minutes from the beach promenade where all the action is – the bars, restaurants, that whole scene – but the street itself is actually pretty quiet.

The bungalow-style setup works better than I expected. Instead of feeling like you’re in some massive concrete hotel block, you’ve got these low-rise buildings scattered around landscaped grounds that actually feel tropical (not just fake palms stuck in concrete, which is what you get at half the places here). The rooms have this sort of Canarian vibe without being too theme-park about it – terracotta floors, wooden furniture that doesn’t look like it came from IKEA, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than you’d expect for a four-star. The bathrooms are nothing fancy, but they work and there’s decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in southern Tenerife before, you know that’s not always a given.

What really sold me was the pool area – it’s got multiple levels and these little nooks where you can actually find a quiet spot even when the place is busy. The staff running the poolside bar know their stuff too; they make a proper sangria, not the sugary tourist version. And here’s something I didn’t expect: the WiFi actually works throughout the property, even by the pool. Small thing, but it matters when you’re trying to figure out ferry times to La Gomera or whatever. The location really is the sweet spot though – you’re close enough to walk to Siam Park (about 15 minutes), you can catch the bus to Santa Cruz or Los Cristianos right from the main road, and there’s a Mercadona supermarket practically around the corner if you want to grab snacks or drinks without paying hotel prices. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid, comfortable, and the kind of place where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re missing out on the energy of Las Américas. Just don’t expect cutting-edge design or a spa – this is more about location, comfort, and having a good base for exploring the island.

  Location was great. Apartment was spacious and provided exactly what we wanted for a weeks holiday.

  Overall fantastic bungalow! Location very close to all amenities and beach, the room is spacious and nice backyard with loungers too. TV, washing machine and drying rack were a plus.
  
  What could be improved: Both pools were too cold for swimming, also must take into account that it’s a private host so there is no cleaning provided throughout the whole stay so you have to do your own washing and buy all cleaning supplies and toilet paper.

  Owners left Coffee, Tea and Water which I thought was a very nice touch.
  
  Liked the balcony area which overlooks the pool,this opens 10am-6pm. Has a bar area and a lifeguard.

  Loved the location, it was one street away from the main strip & Beach. supermarkets, restaurants and bars were in abundance.

  What could be improved: The apartments are in need of some renovation. A towel is needed in the shower, otherwise the bath will be full of water.

  Well situated, well equipped, nice pool!
  
  What could be improved: A lot of party noise during the night. The pool pump is right next to the terrace and running non-stop (also during the night), so it's not very pleasant to sit on the terrace.
  It wasn't possible to lock the terrace door.
