You know what? I’ve stayed at a bunch of hotels in the Canary Islands, and Eurosant Playas actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away on Calle Isla de la Gomera in Playa de San Juan – honestly, I almost missed it the first time because it doesn’t scream “look at me” from the street. But that’s part of its charm, I guess. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of calm that you don’t get at those massive resort complexes down the coast. The lobby has this warm, understated elegance – think modern Spanish design without all the flashy marble and gold accents that make you feel like you’re in a casino.

What really won me over was how they handle the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a week. The rooms are genuinely spacious (I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to climb over the bed), and the balconies – well, if you score one facing the ocean, you’re basically set for the trip. I spent way too many evenings out there with a beer from the mini-fridge, watching the sunset paint the water all these incredible shades of orange and pink. The staff knows the area inside and out, which is huge when you’re trying to figure out where to eat that isn’t just another tourist trap. They pointed me toward this tiny tapas place about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would have found on my own – one of those spots where half the menu is scribbled on a chalkboard and the owner’s grandmother is still making the gazpacho.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re somewhere real instead of just another beach resort bubble. Playa de San Juan has this authentic Canarian vibe – there’s a proper town center with actual locals doing their grocery shopping, not just souvenir shops selling inflatable flamingos. The beach is literally a five-minute stroll, and it’s the kind of black volcanic sand that feels amazing under your feet (though it does get scorching hot by midday, fair warning). Pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families start showing up, but early morning and late afternoon it’s pretty peaceful. I actually loved how mixed the crowd was – Spanish families, German couples, a few solo travelers like me. You hear conversations in four different languages at breakfast, which somehow makes the whole experience feel more… I don’t know, worldly? The 8.3 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but everything works exactly like it should, the beds are comfortable, the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and you wake up feeling like you’re somewhere special without having spent a fortune to get there.

  The location suits us as we are in seventies and like the quiet location. We also like to walk.

  Friendly host (no English spoken). The apartment was clean and had all the basic needs for our one week stay.

  Luis was a very friendly and helpful host. I accidentially left keys inside in the lock which prevented opening the door with a key. Luis came at 10 pm at night to open the door with special tools. You couldn't get better service than this! Thank you, Luis! The apartment was clean and had a modern kitchen. The beds were comfortable. There's everything you need for a comfortable stay except a coffee maker. The shared sun deck on the roof was also very nice. Parking a car on the street was sometimes challenging, but I could always find an available spot nearby. There's also a free public garage just 150 meters away.
  
  What could be improved: Airconditioning would be useful on a hot weather. A coffee maker in the kitchen would be handy. Everything else was perfect.

  Flat very clean.
  Beds had deep mattresses and lovely snowy white, yet very comfy bedding.
  2 mins walk to beach front.
  Louis was a superb host and accommodated our (quite frequent requests) with a big smile.

  I had stayed there before and liked the property, the gentleman on reception, the location and the price was reasonable. There is a roof terrace too. It's not a modern apartment but has all that you need.
  Playa San Juan is a lovely place to walk round and has plenty of places to eat.
  
  What could be improved: There is no air-con which is ok in the winter months but might be a problem for summer visitors.

  We stayed here for 13 days, and while there were some positives, unfortunately, our overall experience was heavily impacted by noise issues.
  
  Positives:
  The host was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and just a 2-minute walk from the beach — which was a big plus. The bed was comfortable and the location was convenient for exploring the area.
  
  Negatives:
  Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we’ve had in terms of getting a good night’s sleep. The apartment was extremely noisy. The bedroom windows face the street and offer no sound insulation — even with them fully closed, it felt like they were open. We could hear every conversation, every chair movement, and all kinds of noise from both outside and the apartment above us. The ceiling and walls had virtually no soundproofing.
  
  To make it worse, the neighbours often stayed up late, which meant we barely slept and felt completely exhausted by the end of our stay. Parking was also a daily struggle, as it was rarely possible to find a spot near the apartment.
  
  I would only recommend this place to travelers who don’t mind noise or who don’t prioritise rest on their holiday.
