Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Euphorbia Suites on that winding stretch of road between Icod and Buenavista, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The address sounds pretty remote when you’re booking online, but actually, it’s this perfect sweet spot where you’re tucked away from the tourist madness yet still close enough to everything that matters. The name had me curious too (I mean, who names a hotel after a cactus plant?), but it makes sense once you see the place – there’s this really thoughtful desert garden design that somehow works beautifully with the Canarian landscape.

What struck me right away was how quiet it gets here, especially in the evenings. You’re far enough from the main TF-42 highway that you don’t get that constant hum of traffic, but close enough that getting to places like Garachico or even back to Puerto de la Cruz isn’t a hassle. The staff actually gave me some great insider tips about timing – apparently most tourists stick to the southern beaches, so this whole northwestern corner of Tenerife feels almost secret. I spent a morning walking down to Los Silos’ natural pools (about a 15-minute stroll through the village), and honestly, I had them practically to myself. The hotel itself has this modern but warm feel – not trying too hard to be fancy, just really well thought out. My suite had this amazing view toward the ocean, and you know what? The balcony actually gets the most incredible sunsets. I’m usually not the type to sit around taking sunset photos, but there’s something about the way the light hits the water here that’s just… different.

The whole vibe is pretty relaxed – I mean, this isn’t party central, which is exactly why I loved it. Parking was never an issue (there’s plenty of space, unlike some places I’ve stayed in the Canary Islands), and the check-in process was smooth. One small thing – the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, but honestly, that kind of forced me to disconnect, which wasn’t the worst thing. The breakfast spread was solid, with good local touches, and the coffee was actually decent – not always a given in hotel restaurants. I’d say if you’re looking for that perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility, this place nails it. It’s got that 4-star comfort level without feeling stuffy, and you’re positioned perfectly for exploring the less touristy side of Tenerife. Just don’t expect much nightlife within walking distance – but if you want to wake up to bird songs instead of construction noise, Euphorbia Suites delivers exactly that.
