Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Estudio Puerta Azul on Avenida J.M. Galván Bello, I wasn’t expecting much. The address sounds fancy, but this part of San Miguel de Abona is actually pretty residential and quiet, which turned out to be exactly what I needed. The building itself is one of those modern apartment-style places that you see all over this stretch of southern Tenerife, but once you get inside apartment 203, you realize why this place has that 9.1 rating.

The studio is honestly way more spacious than the photos suggest – I mean, you know how these vacation rentals can be tiny, right? But there’s actually room to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase for a week. The blue door (puerta azul, get it?) opens into this bright, airy space with really good natural light, and the kitchen area is properly equipped, not just some sad mini-fridge situation. What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re close enough to the main roads that getting around is easy. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – decent water pressure, reliable wifi, and enough counter space to make your morning coffee without playing Tetris with your toiletries.

Here’s what makes this spot work so well: San Miguel de Abona is sort of the sweet spot between the tourist chaos of Los Cristianos and the middle-of-nowhere feeling you get in some of the mountain towns. You’re maybe fifteen minutes from the airport (huge plus if you’re doing one of those early morning flights), but you’re also close enough to the coast that beach days don’t require a major expedition. The neighborhood has that authentic Canarian vibe – you’ll hear Spanish being spoken more than English or German, there’s a proper local market on weekends, and the restaurants nearby serve food that locals actually eat, not just tourist paella. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven around southern Tenerife will tell you is not a given. The whole area feels lived-in rather than resort-y, and honestly, after a few days of exploring the island’s tourist hotspots, coming back to this quiet street felt like a real retreat. It’s the kind of place where you can actually imagine living for a while, not just passing through.

  • Iryna from Ukraine (9/10)

We liked the place. The apartment is clean, cozy, comfortable, new furniture, balcony overlooking the town. We liked the design of the apartment. There is a washing machine, everything you need for cooking, a Dolchegusto coffee machine and capsules for it, and towels for the pool. We like to wear linen clothes on holiday, so we lacked an iron, but the apartments have a lot of advantages, so it’s better to take a travel iron with you on your trip and stay in this place. The location is convenient, on the ground floor of the building there is a store, a coffee shop, and pubs nearby. The beach is within walking distance, but entry into the water is not very convenient; it is better to go to other beaches. Close to the airport. I definitely recommend it. Thanks to the wonderful Italian couple for our comfortable stay.

The hosts were very friendly, they greeted us well after checking when our aircraft was landing. The apartment was very clean, tidy, well equipped and modern. We even had a coffee machine with the necessary coffee pods. It was possible to find a parking space right in front of the building. All in all, I would recommend it to everyone!
