It’s one of those places that feels like a local secret tucked away on Camino Las Lagunetas – honestly, I almost drove past it because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. But that’s actually part of its charm. This isn’t your typical tourist trap; it’s more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed guesthouse in the mountains.

The whole setup is refreshingly straightforward. We’re talking about a 3-star place that punches way above its weight (that 9.3 rating isn’t just for show). The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that actually works – I mean, you’re not here to hole up indoors anyway when you’ve got the Teide National Park practically on your doorstep. What I loved was how quiet it gets at night; you can actually hear the wind in the pine trees, which is pretty magical after dealing with city noise all year. The staff genuinely seems to know the area inside and out – they pointed me toward this little trail that most tourists never find, and honestly, it ended up being the highlight of my whole trip.

Here’s the thing about La Esperanza that most people don’t realize until they get here: it’s not just a pit stop on the way to bigger attractions. The town sits at this perfect altitude where the air is crisp but not thin, and mornings have this incredible clarity that makes everything look like it’s been freshly painted. Parking at the hotel is straightforward (thank god, because navigating these mountain roads with a rental car is adventure enough), and you’re close enough to the main road that getting to places like the observatory or the hiking trails doesn’t require a whole production. The check-in was refreshingly human – no corporate script, just someone who clearly lives here and knows what travelers actually need to know. I will say the WiFi can be a bit spotty, but honestly? That might be a feature, not a bug, depending on what you’re after. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic without sacrificing comfort, and you want to wake up to actual mountain views instead of another hotel’s parking lot, this is your spot.

  A really nice place to stay. The studio is located in a nice and calm place, close to the main points to visit . You can go everywhere from there. The studio is well equiped. I recommand this studio. The owners are warm welcoming. I will come back 🙂

  The place was very clean, there was everything we needed and a lot of towels and extra blankets! 🙂 The host brought us a bag with lemons (there was a lemon tree by the house). I liked roosters crowing in the neighborhood.
  
  What could be improved: The rooms were pretty dark with only a few small windows. Lights could have been cosier. The place was rather difficult to find because it was a bit far from main roads but Google maps helped us a lot! The roads arond the house were rather bumpy.

  L'appartamento è dotato di tutti i servizi e comfort, ideale per un soggiorno anche di lunga durata (addirittura oltre alla lavatrice anche uno stendino con mollette). Tutto era pulito e la zona in cui si trova è tranquilla e silenziosa. Molto comodo il posto auto privato.

  Muy cómodo. El apartamento tiene de todo y está en una zona muy tranquila, perfecta para visitar tanto el Teide como Anaga. Nos encantó.
