Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Estancia Victoria on Camino los Gomez, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that catch you off guard. This little gem sits in La Orotava, which honestly feels like stepping back in time compared to the tourist madness down in Puerto de la Cruz (just a 10-minute drive away, by the way).

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The staff actually remembers your name after day one – I mean, that sounds small, but when you’re used to being treated like room number 237, it makes a difference. The location is pretty brilliant too, though you might not realize it at first glance. You’re tucked away from the main tourist drag, but the historic center of La Orotava is literally a five-minute walk. I spent hours just wandering those cobblestone streets, checking out the traditional Canarian balconies and ducking into family-run shops that have been there for decades. Plus, if you’re into hiking (and let’s face it, that’s half the reason people come to Tenerife), you’re perfectly positioned for hitting the trails up toward Teide National Park.

What really sold me on Estancia Victoria was the little details – the way the morning light hits the courtyard around 8 AM, how quiet it gets at night despite being in town, and honestly, the fact that they don’t blast generic hotel music in the lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being fancy, which is exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring anyway. I did notice the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms (third floor, corner room – learned that the hard way), but the common areas have solid connection if you need to get work done. The breakfast spread isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s fresh and local, and they make a decent café con leche. One thing that impressed me was how they handle the practical stuff – easy parking (not a given in these old Canarian towns), reasonable check-in even when I showed up earlier than expected, and they actually have local maps with hiking trails marked out, not just the usual tourist brochures. That 9-star rating makes perfect sense once you realize this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.

  Bella struttura nella tranquilla valle di Orotava. Appartamento comodo e pulito, dotato di ogni comfort. Check-in e checkout autonomi e semplici grazie alla buona comunicazione del proprietario. Consiglio la struttura a chi volesse esplorare soprattutto la bellissima parte nord dell'isola evitando le grandi città e il caos.
