You know what struck me first about this place? The way the light just floods in through those ocean-facing windows – I mean, you wake up and it’s like the Atlantic is putting on a show just for you. The Elegant Candelaria apartment sits right on Calle Arafo, which honestly sounds fancier than it is, but that’s part of the charm. It’s this narrow street that locals actually use, so you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble. The building itself has that Spanish apartment character – thick walls that keep things cool, tile floors that make sense in the heat, and windows that open properly (you’d be surprised how many places skimp on that).

What really gets me is the location – Candelaria isn’t one of those places everyone talks about, but it should be. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Basilica, and I don’t mean tourist-brochure five minutes, I mean actual walking time. The ocean views aren’t just marketing speak either; you can see the waves from the living room, and if you’re an early riser like me, watching the fishing boats head out at dawn is pretty spectacular. The apartment itself feels lived-in in the best way – the kitchen actually has proper knives and more than two wine glasses, the shower has decent water pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without tripping over suitcases. The decor is what I’d call “Spanish modern” – clean lines but warm, with those little touches that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-loved home rather than a rental property.

Parking can be a bit of a dance (welcome to Spain), but there’s usually something within a block or two, and honestly, once you’re settled, you won’t need the car much. The building is quiet – well, Spanish quiet, which means you’ll hear some conversation from the courtyard in the evenings, but it’s more ambient than annoying. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend confirming your arrival time because the property manager isn’t sitting around waiting all day. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be spotty when it’s windy, and the coffee maker is basic), but it delivers on what matters. You’re getting genuine ocean views, a real neighborhood feel, and easy access to both the spiritual side of Candelaria and the practical stuff like decent restaurants and the bus connections to other parts of Tenerife. For four stars, it punches above its weight, especially if you value location and views over hotel-style amenities.

  The apartment was lovely, clean, spacious and had all the amenities that we needed and the balcony with a view of the sea and sunrise was great.

  Lovely apartment in great location in town. Really enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning from bed. Spacious, stylish, clean, and comfortable.
  We had difficulty accessing the apartments main front door when we arrived because the electronic key did not work, and we could not reach anyone by phone. Thankfully, a resident of the block opened the main door, and we were then able to get into the apartment via the key in the lockbox.
  We enjoyed exploring Candelaria a really nice Spanish town with a fabulous basilica and square, low key tourism, local restaurants and swimming spots. Although the local beaches are black sand, there are other beaches within half an hour, especially La Terasitas, golden sand with loads of free parking. Santa Cruz and the beautiful San Cristobel de la Laguna are 20-30 mins away.

  Das Apartment liegt im vierten Stock und bietet damit einen fantastischen Blick auf das Meer, jeden Morgen konnte man einen wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang genießen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist ebenfalls sehr gut, es ist alles vorhanden, was man im Alltag benötigt, einschließlich einer Waschmaschine. In der Umgebung gibt es jede Menge gute Restaurants und viele Möglichkeiten für Unternehmungen und Wanderungen. Candelaria ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Aktivitäten in alle Richtungen, ein Mietwagen ist dann allerdings von Vorteil.

  L’exposition plein Est face au soleil levant. L’ascenseur car l’appartement est au 4 eme étage . La vue sur l’océan. La literie confortable. Le calme de la résidence. La cafetière italienne. La propreté. La décoration.

  Ci è piaciuto tutto. L’appartamento è nuovo, luminoso, pulito, dotato di ogni accessorio per ogni necessità casalinga. Il terrazzo fronte oceano ci ha regalato delle albe mozzafiato! Il condominio è silenzioso e con ascensore; il letto è comodissimo e la cucina funzionale. Molto spazioso e luminoso! Abbiamo sempre trovato parcheggio sotto casa. L’ubicazione è comodissima al lungomare e vicina al paseo che conduce al centro e alla meravigliosa Basilica. Siamo stati benissimo e torneremo sicuramente! Amiamo Candelaria che è un gioiello canario! Grazie allo staff super attento e gentile!
