Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Edificio Raso de la Bruma” on my booking confirmation, I had no idea what I was getting into. The address on Calle Aroba didn’t ring any bells either, and you know how it is when you’re booking somewhere new in Tenerife. But here’s the thing: this place absolutely surprised me in the best way possible.

The building itself sits in this quiet residential pocket of Santa Cruz that most tourists never stumble across – which is actually perfect if you’re tired of the usual hotel strip chaos. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the main action (maybe 15-20 minutes to the heart of Santa Cruz), but at night it’s properly quiet. No drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM, no constant traffic noise. The street parking situation is way better than I expected too, though I’d still recommend asking the front desk about their preferred spots – they know which corners the locals avoid.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually care about the place. Check-in was this refreshingly normal conversation rather than the usual robotic hotel script, and they had these little local recommendations that weren’t just the standard tourist traps. The rooms themselves are honestly better than you’d expect from a 3-star – clean, comfortable beds (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms are recently updated. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, and there’s this nice common area where you can actually sit and plan your day without feeling like you’re camping in a lobby.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the neighborhood comes alive in the mornings with locals heading to work and kids walking to school. There’s this small café about two blocks down that serves proper cortados and these incredible pastries that the hotel staff put me onto. You won’t find it in any guidebook, but it’s where the locals actually go. The whole area has this lived-in feeling that makes you feel like you’re experiencing actual Tenerife rather than just tourist Tenerife, if that makes sense.

The 9.2 rating honestly makes perfect sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – no fake luxury or over-the-top amenities that break half the time. Instead, it’s just a really solid, well-run place where you can base yourself while exploring the island. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because, well, why complicate things when you’ve found somewhere that works? If you’re looking for a proper local experience rather than the typical resort bubble, and you don’t mind being a bit off the beaten path, this place is definitely worth considering.

    Nice location and convenient parking. You have everything for living: fridge, microwave etc.

    What could be improved: WiFi is slow and unstable. My room had no balcony at all. Bedroom window looks at inner hall.

    Location was great, close to the mayor highway TF-1. Parking in the garage under the building was very easy and nice. Host was very friendly and replied very fast and was always there to answer any questions we had.

    What could be improved: The beds were quite hard and the hot water for the shower ran out quickly.

    Locatie buna , de pe terasa se vedea si oceanul si muntele . Apartament nou , modern cu garaj subteran . Dotat cu tot ce e nevoie pentru o sedere confortabila . Raport calitate pret foarte bun. Recomand !

    Appartamento con arredamento moderno, dispone di ottimi servizi come lavatrice e di una cucina attrezzata. Soluzione abitativa ampia (due camere da letto per un totale di 4 letti) con una bellissima vista dal balcone spazioso. Appartamento dotato di box auto all'interno del garage condominiale. Quartiere silenzioso e comodissimo per raggiungere l'autostrada a pochissimi metri. A 1km si trova il centro di Candelaria. Molteplici supermercati e ipermercati in zona.

    Die Unterkunft war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist ruhig aber sehr gut angebunden. Die Tiefgarage war sehr praktisch!

    Comoda la possibilità di un posto in garage.
    Carino il terrazzino e buono il wifi.
    La cucina è attrezzata con poche stoviglie ma si trova tutto l'indispensabile

    What could be improved: Le casse della tv grattano a o a tal punto da non poter sentire l'audio.
    Sarebbe stato comodo trovare i condimenti essenziali in cucina come sale olio e zucchero per evitare di comprarne nuovi e doverli buttare al termine della vacanza.
