You know what caught me off guard about Coco y Palma? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet stretch of Avenida Familia de Betancourt y Molina – I mean, you’re still close to all the action in Puerto de la Cruz, but somehow it feels like you’ve found this little pocket of calm. The first time I walked up, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star place, but there’s something really charming about how unassuming it is.

The thing about this hotel is that it gets the basics absolutely right, which sounds simple but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. The rooms are clean and comfortable – not fancy, but they have this relaxed vibe that just works when you’re spending your days exploring the old town or heading down to Playa Jardín. Speaking of which, you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to the beach, and even closer to some of those great little tapas bars that locals actually go to. I particularly love that you can slip down to the port area without dealing with the tourist crowds on the main drags – there’s this whole network of side streets that locals use, and staying here puts you right in the middle of it.

What really impressed me was how the staff actually seem to know the area. I asked about catching the bus to Teide, and instead of just pointing me to the tourist office, they gave me specific timing advice and even mentioned which stop to get off at for the best views on the way up. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference, honestly. The hotel itself has this laid-back island feel without trying too hard – you know how some places overdo the tropical thing? Not here. It’s more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have good taste and knows how to make you comfortable. The 8-out-of-10 rating makes total sense when you consider you’re getting genuine hospitality and a great location without paying resort prices. If you’re the type who’d rather spend your money on amazing Canarian food and maybe a few extra trips to the volcano instead of marble bathrooms, this place just clicks.

  Loved the proximity to the ocean. Hardly a minute walk to the one of the main surfing beaches. Was able to see and hear the ocean quite clearly from the room.
  
  Necessary items like iron, washing machine, induction range were included in the room.

  Location was amazing. Apartment was clean and well equipped. Plenty of space and comfortable. Pool was also lovely.

  3. Beautiful open shared stairs with a seaview. Lack of terrace was never a problem

  5. There is free parking around the apartment, but it is almost always busy. However, there were a couple of times when I was able to part near the apartment. I mostly parked uphill in 10 minutes' walk from the place. There was never a situation when I could not find a suitable parking spot

  Great room with great location and convienence store in the same building. Personnel was kind and helpfull. Free parking at 10-20 min walk trough the town. Would recommend to park the car for short parking to unload or load your suitcases at the shoppingcentre. I would recommend this room highly!
