It’s tucked away on Camino de la Costa – not the main drag where all the tour buses rumble past, but close enough that you can still hear the waves from Playa Jardín when the wind’s right.

The thing about this place is it actually delivers on those views everyone promises but rarely gives you. From the terrace (and yeah, the name isn’t just marketing fluff), you get this sweeping look at the coastline that changes completely depending on the time of day. Morning light hits the volcanic rocks differently than evening – I mean, I’m not trying to sound like a travel brochure here, but it’s genuinely stunning. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel room. The kitchen’s small but functional – I made coffee there most mornings instead of hunting down a café, though let’s be honest, the café scene in Puerto is pretty fantastic too.

What really sold me was the attention to detail. The host actually knows the area and gives you proper recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this little path that cuts down toward the coast – saves you about ten minutes walking to the beach and most visitors never find it. Parking can be a bit tricky (it’s Spain, what do you expect?), but there’s usually space on the street if you’re not picky about walking a block or two. The building itself is quiet – I was worried about noise since it’s right in town, but the thick walls do their job. Only thing I’d mention is the stairs up to the second floor might be a challenge if you’re hauling heavy luggage, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker.

Here’s what I really appreciated: it strikes that perfect balance between being close to everything but not right in the chaos. You can walk to Plaza del Charco in maybe eight minutes, hit the botanical gardens without needing a car, and still come home to somewhere that feels peaceful. The whole setup just works – and with a 9.5 rating, apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so.
