Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw Coastal Vibe’s address on that ninth floor in Tacoronte, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name had me thinking beachfront resort, but this place is actually something more interesting. It’s perched up there with these incredible views over the northern coast of Tenerife, and you know what? Sometimes the best coastal experiences aren’t right on the sand.

The thing about Tacoronte is that most tourists blow right past it on their way to the bigger resort towns, which is honestly their loss. This area has this authentic Canarian feel that you just don’t get in the package holiday spots. From Coastal Vibe’s windows – and trust me, you’ll spend time just staring out of them – you can see clear across to the Atlantic on good days. The sunsets are ridiculous. I mean, I’ve seen plenty of sunsets, but there’s something about watching the light hit those volcanic cliffs that just gets you.

The hotel itself feels more like a really well-designed apartment than your typical tourist accommodation. Check-in was smooth (the staff actually remembered my name the next day, which was a nice touch), and the rooms have this clean, modern vibe without being sterile. What I really appreciated was the attention to details that matter – proper blackout curtains for sleeping in, decent water pressure, and outlets where you actually need them. The 8.1 rating makes sense; it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does well.

Here’s what you should know about the location: you’re about a 15-minute drive from the coast if you want proper beach time, but honestly, the pool area and those views might be all the water time you need. There’s parking (thank god, because navigating these mountain roads with nowhere to put your car is a nightmare), and you’re close enough to the local restaurants that you can walk to dinner. The wine bars in Tacoronte are no joke – this is serious wine country, and the locals know their stuff. I had some of the best Listán Negro of my life just a few blocks away.

The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of nightlife, this isn’t your spot. It gets pretty quiet after about 10 PM, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. You wake up to bird sounds instead of traffic, and there’s something to be said for that. The four-star rating feels right – it’s comfortable and well-run without being fancy for the sake of it. Plus, you’re actually experiencing a part of Tenerife that most visitors never see, which is worth something in itself.

  Amazing location and view, check in and out was easy and without issues, large parking lot near, apartment was decently clean and comfortable. We had a wine bottle left for us which was a nice gesture.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen wasn't as well equipped as it could've been. In the smaller bedroom there is a dangerous window above the bed that opens outside without any guards (apartment is 9th floor), just something to be careful of if you have small kids.

  What could be improved: There is no cellular service in this location and it would not be a problem if the host would notify me about that beforehand (I got a lot of messages about online check in, but no disclaimer about the connection so that I could prepare codes for doors beforehand). Also, to get more details about how to get to the apartment would be also helpful because Google maps navigate to the wrong point (and then you have out of service to check that from host or something else)
  No dishwasher. Blunt knives. Ants.
  Very small bed for a double one.
  All remote controls were without batteries or with not working ones, so you can’t use TV, fan or the lightning in the bedroom.
  Cot for children is with not a cotton like covering but like oilcloth and it was too warm for a baby to sleep on that even when it was not very hot outside + when the baby moves it sound loud
  Apartment can be opened only by the code and can’t be closed in a different way – a bit not safe
  Overall the apartment looks a bit tired

  What could be improved: It was hard to find the apartment and you don t have signal to speak with the staff. The bathroom was not clean and there were some little ants in the kitchen.

  The view is fantastic. We had some amazing sunsets and the beach that is close by is really nice (there are waves so caution is recommended).
  
  What could be improved: It seemed bigger from the pictures but ok for 4 adults and 1 small child. A car is needed to get around, some nice restaurants a bit further. No cell service but ok Wi-Fi.

  Very clean apartment with amazing view of the sea!
  Code to enter apartment 1st time was a bit slow on the door but managed to enter fast and there was a key inside which made it very easy to enter without using the code.

  What could be improved: A rental car was 100% necessary (we had one) and the drive down to this place was a bit scary (straight down cliffs) but beautiful. I would have enjoyed a location with some more options for eating closer in distance.

  Great and modern apartment with an amazing view over the ocean. You have everything you need in there. It's located very well to do some nice trips to the Anaga Mountains, Santa Cruz de Tenerife or to the Teide National Park.
