Hotel Description
You know what? Club Apartments by Grupo Compostelana 1 isn’t going to win any Instagram awards, but honestly, that’s kind of what I liked about it. It’s tucked away on Calle Uruguay – and if you’re thinking this sounds like some grand boulevard, think again. It’s actually this quiet residential street that most tourists completely miss, which means you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of Puerto de la Cruz’s main drag.
The building itself feels more like staying in someone’s neighborhood than a typical hotel, which I mean, makes sense since these are actual apartments. My unit was surprisingly spacious – way more room than you’d get in a standard hotel for the same price. The kitchen wasn’t fancy, but it had everything you’d actually need if you wanted to grab groceries from the Mercadona down the hill and save some euros on meals. Speaking of that hill… well, let’s just say your calves are going to get a workout. Puerto de la Cruz isn’t exactly flat, and this location means you’re doing a bit of hiking to get to the beach or the main restaurant area. It’s maybe a 10-minute walk to Plaza del Charco, but those are uphill-both-ways kind of minutes if you know what I mean.
The whole setup is pretty no-frills – don’t expect anyone to carry your bags or offer you a welcome drink. Check-in was straightforward though, and the staff actually seemed to know the area well when I asked about bus routes to Teide (pro tip: the 348 bus stops just a few blocks away and it’s way cheaper than the tour companies). What really worked for me was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the bar scene that you can actually sleep, but close enough that you can still hear the ocean if you open the windows. The apartments face different directions, so if you’re sensitive to morning light, maybe mention that when you book. I got lucky with a unit that stayed pretty dark until I was ready to get up, but I could see how the east-facing ones might have you up with the sunrise. One thing that caught me off guard – and this might just be a Canary Islands thing – was how the water pressure was actually fantastic. After staying in places where the shower barely drizzles, it was honestly a relief. The whole place has this lived-in feel that grows on you, especially if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple nights.

Reviews
Good location…clean well maintained. – Victoria from France – 18 August 2024 (8/10)
It was ideally located however the street below was noisy as restaurant shut late and coffee opened early.
Bed was comfortable and there was everything we needed .
What could be improved: When we arrived First Lady was very attentive but after day one the shower kept going cold I reported it lady said maintenance would need to look. I explained we would be out but would be back for 6 we waited for hour and half no one came and no follow up call or message so sadly disappointed if we slowed water down it was slightly warmer but a courtesy call would have been good.Superb – Györgyike from Hungary – 23 February 2024 (9/10)
Well-equipped, nicely furnished apartment on the first floor. Two apartments face the street, these are the loudest. But if you know in advance and prepare (for example with earplugs) that there is a restaurant below them that closes at 12 at night, then it is no longer so disturbing. Even so, it's absolutely worth it, because it's not expensive and I don't think you can think of a better place: it's almost on the beach, you can even go to the paid beach (5.50 EU, so you get a sunbed) even in a bathing suit. The very pleasant and long beach promenade is also right in front of you, full of restaurants.
Good value for money but very noisy till midnight because apartment is located above the restaraunt – Artem from Ukraine – 18 January 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: It was not easy to find the entrance. I'd say that you should send some photos before the checkin
Nice appartment, but very poor service – Dominika from Poland – 12 January 2024 (7/10)
– comfortable bed
– well equipped appartment (towels, shower gel, shampoo, kitchenware etc)
– we get baby cot and baby feeding chair
What could be improved: – loud restaurant beneath the appt open until 0:30am and the bedroom was stuffy with the windows closed
– very poor communication with the owners (Ocean Rentals). The call center has absolutely no flexibility for the guests requests. The check-in is from 2pm, we arrived 4:30pm and the appt wasn’t ready until 5:30pm (they let us leave the luggage) and when we asked to check-out at 1pm (when the regular is until noon) we were denied.
We asked the call center for the baby cot and feeding chair , they said it’s not available on the day of our arrival and when we get to the room (15min after talking with them) the baby cot was already there and the cleaning lady asked if we want a baby feeding chair a provide us with that on the spot.
You can feel that it is a big chain of appartments that doesn’t have their call center workers trained in providing a good level of service and user experience.Christmas getaway – Dominic from United Kingdom – 2 January 2024 (7/10)
Location was good, car rental place opposite that offers private secure parking a couple of streets away!
Swimming pool opposite that you can go to and sunbathe for around 5-6 euro all day!
What could be improved: Noisy air-conditioning, after a while it was like someone was running a tap!
Apartment not cleaned in 10 days the whole time we were there! I would have been happy if a cleaner had come to change the bedding at least , had to wash our towels etc!
Not easy to find the entrance to this place and the code system looks like a doorbell, so a bit confusing!
Bed sofa could have been a bit bigger as there was room!
The hot water for the shower lasted less than 5 minutes before it started to go cold which was annoying! Even more so if someone is waiting to go after you and then has a cold shower!Exceptional – Julian from Spain – 6 August 2023 (10/10)
Great location.
What could be improved: Air conditioning in bedroom had a slight fault and made sporadic noises during the night.Very good – Jose from Spain – 22 October 2024 (8/10)
Ubicacion,
Fenomenal. – Susana from Spain – 19 October 2023 (9/10)
La ubicación, estaba muy bien situado y muy bien equipado.
Genial – Ainara from Spain – 30 August 2023 (8/10)
Todo
What could be improved: Que no tuviera, dos pares de sábanas para cambiar ya que hemos estado 15 días y que no tuviera balcón.Molt bé – Judith from Spain – 29 March 2023 (9/10)
M’ha agradat la situació.
What could be improved: Les tovalloles molt petites.
