You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to CHC – Apartamento Wabalo on Calle Baltasar Núñez – I mean, apartment hotels can be hit or miss, right? But honestly, this place completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. The building itself has this lovely Canarian character that fits perfectly into La Laguna’s UNESCO World Heritage vibe, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here.

The apartment I stayed in was genuinely spacious – not that cramped “European cozy” thing you sometimes get. The kitchen was properly equipped (I’m talking real coffee maker, decent-sized fridge, actual counter space), which made grabbing breakfast before wandering around the old town so much easier. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re literally in the heart of everything. The windows do their job well because La Laguna can get pretty lively, especially when the university students are around. The WiFi actually works – I know, revolutionary concept – and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which honestly made all the difference during those surprisingly warm September evenings.

Here’s the thing about the location that really makes this place special: you’re about a three-minute walk from Plaza del Adelantado, where all the weekend action happens, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with noise until 2 AM. I could walk to Casa Salazar in under five minutes, hit up the morning market without breaking a sweat, and still feel like I had my own little peaceful corner of the city. The narrow streets around here are perfect for those early morning coffee runs before the crowds show up – there’s this tiny local café just around the corner that locals actually go to, not just tourists. Parking was way easier than I expected too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in La Laguna’s old town, you’ll know is basically a miracle. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment – except everything actually works and someone else does the cleaning. That 9.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there; it’s one of those places that gets the basics so right that you don’t realize how much you appreciate it until you’re somewhere else dealing with broken shower heads and sketchy WiFi.

  Un piso muy grande y limpio. Me encantó las flexibilidad y trato de nuestros host, quienes se portaron muy bien y nos recomendaron sitios donde comer. De igual forma, nos permitieron quedarnos más allá de la hora de salida. Espero que su experiencia con nosotros haya sido tan buena como para nosotros.

  El apartamento es muy tranquilo está bien decorado y tiene todo lo necesario
  .La ubicación céntrica muy a mano de la zona comercial e histórica de La Laguna.

  Todo. Bien ubicado , a 5 minutos del casco histórico peatonal, y también cerca del tranvía. Además puedes encontrar lugares para comer muy cerca del alojamiento y teniamos un supermercado en la calle paralela Aunque casi no usamos la cocina esta tenía lo necesario para poder cocinar y comer en el alojamiento, además de lavadora y secadora por si necesitas hacer uso de ellas.
  Camas muy cómodas y no se oyen ruidos por lo q puedes descansar perfectamente.
  El apartamento estaba muy limpio y es muy luminoso
  Nos recibieron amablemente a la llegado para darnos las llaves y enseñarnos el alojamiento.
