You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Casa Valeria Vista Mare E Teide on Calle Madreselva – I mean, it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area of Puntillo del Sol that honestly feels more like a local neighborhood than a tourist zone. But then you walk in and immediately understand why this place has such an insane 9.6 rating. The owners, who actually live on-site, have this way of making you feel like you’re staying at your Spanish aunt’s house – if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and knew exactly how to position every window to catch those incredible Teide views.

The whole setup is pretty clever, actually. While everyone else is fighting for overpriced rooms in the main tourist strips, you’re here in this peaceful residential pocket where the only sounds are neighbors chatting on their balconies and the occasional delivery truck rumbling down the narrow street. The rooms themselves aren’t huge – this is a 3-star place, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with those little touches that matter. Like, the shower actually has decent water pressure (you’d be surprised how rare that is in some Spanish hotels), and there’s proper blackout curtains because the morning sun here is no joke. What really gets me is how they’ve managed to orient almost everything toward those volcano views – I found myself just standing on the balcony with my morning coffee, staring at Teide like some kind of tourist cliché, but honestly not caring because the sight never gets old.

The location is one of those things that seems inconvenient until you realize it’s actually perfect. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the main beach clubs, but you’re also not dealing with the crowds and noise that come with them. There’s decent parking right outside (massive win if you’re renting a car), and the owners know all the local spots – they’ll point you toward this little family-run restaurant about ten minutes walk away that serves the best papas arrugadas I had on the entire island. Plus, when you do want to hit the main attractions, everything’s still totally accessible. I think what makes Casa Valeria special is that it feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find – it’s not trying to be some Instagram-perfect boutique hotel, it’s just a really well-run, genuine place where someone clearly cares about the details. The fact that it’s consistently rated almost perfect tells you everything you need to know about how they treat their guests.

  Beautiful house with a lovely terrace that looks out onto the mountains and sea. Friendly and accommodating host. Parking always available in front. Very quiet area. All appliances available and super clean.

  Everything. Elena is a nice host, very responsive and helpful. The accommodation is new with a wonderful view and terrace, large bedroom.

  El apartamento es muy bonito y está muy bien amueblado, la cama y las almohadas son comodisimas. La atención de los anfitriones fue perfecta.

  La terraza con vistas y la ubicación. Ademas la dueña es muy amable y servicial.
  
  What could be improved: Le falta quizá un pequeño salon, lavadora ( aunque la dueña es muy amable y me ofreció la suya). Otro punto negativo es que la habitacion de arriba se calienta un poco durante el dia porque está muy expuesta al sol, pero por la noche con la venta abierta se refresca rápido. En general todo bien sobre todo si solo se usa solo la habitación principal

  Der Empfang war sehr nett. Die Unterkunft liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Wohngegend. In der Dunkelheit ist die Hausnummer nicht ganz so gut zu sehen, aber sie ist da. Alles war blitzsauber. Parkplätze gab es reichlich vor dem Haus. Von der Terrasse (eine Etage höher) hat man eine tolle Aussicht. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Die Küche ist etwas eng, aber ausreichend. Das 3. Bett (sehr nett gelöst) befindet sich 1 Etage höher, also nur geeignet für größere Kinder. Die Matratze und auch die Kissen sind für Menschen geeignet, die gerne hart schlafen. Man benötigt definitiv ein Auto.
  
  What could be improved: Es wäre schön, wenn die Kaution nicht im Kleingedruckten versteckt würde.

  Sehr nette Gastgeberin (immer per WhatsApp erreichbar) und problemlose Übergabe der Fewo mit toller eigener Dachterrasse mit Blick auf Teide und Meer und ganztags Sonne. Man ist in 2 Minuten auf der Autobahn, um Wanderziele anzufahren. Trotzdem liegt Fewo in absolut ruhigem und schönem Villenviertel.
  
  What could be improved: Die Fewo hat kein "Wohnzimmer". Bei schlechtem Wetter kann man nur das Schlafzimmer als Aufenthaltsraum nutzen. Für mich als Alleinreisender kein Problem.
