This four-star property has that understated charm that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, and with a 9.4 rating, I clearly wasn’t the only one who thought so.

Güimar sits in this sweet spot on Tenerife’s eastern coast where you’re close enough to the action but far from the crowds. The hotel’s position on Avenida Pedro Guerra Cabrera puts you right in a residential area where actual Canarians live — I mean, you’ll hear Spanish conversations at the local cafés, not just German and English. It’s about a 20-minute drive to the Teide National Park entrance, and honestly, having that kind of access without dealing with the southern resort traffic is pretty brilliant. Couples seem to get this location particularly well (they rate it 9.3), probably because it feels authentic rather than touristy.

The Room Experience

My room had this clean, modern feel without being sterile — think contemporary Spanish design with warm touches that actually make sense for the climate. The air conditioning worked perfectly (crucial in the Canary Islands), and I appreciated the attention to details like blackout curtains and a decent shower with proper water pressure. What struck me most was how quiet everything was at night — being in a residential area means you’re not dealing with late-night party noise from other hotels or beach bars.

The on-site restaurant serves up solid Canarian cuisine with some international options thrown in. I tried their papas arrugadas with mojo sauce — simple but done right, which tells you something about their approach to food. The staff genuinely seemed to care about what they were serving, not just going through the motions. There’s also a decent-sized pool area where you can actually find a quiet spot to read, and parking is included, which saves you the headache of hunting for street spots in a residential neighborhood.

  Absolutely best stay in Tenerife, the apartment is spacious, very clean and cleaned with organic products, equiped with literally everything, especially the kitchen, all herbs, coffee, baking paper etc. Designed in a nice retro style. And the highlight – 3 terraces. Parking spots in front of the door were always available for the 4 days of our stay. The owner is the nicest person ever, quick communication. I can only recommend.!

  I had a fantastic stay at this apartment! The place was cozy and beautifully decorated, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made feel at home. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring restful nights throughout the whole stay.
  
  The location is ideal – just a quick 7-minute drive to the sea, making it easy to enjoy the beautiful beaches and coastal scenery. I also loved spending time on the stunning terraces, which were perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
  
  The WiFi was excellent, which was a big plus since I needed to stay connected during my trip. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great tips on local attractions and making sure I had everything I needed.

  If you like quirky and comfortable Casa Tesalia is ideal. Fantastic outdoor space with 3 terraces. Enough books to last several months and of all sorts. Spacious and cool inside. Comfortable beds.

  Really clean flat. We enjoyed genius loci of this flat. There was terrace from where you can look at the stars. Very romantic place.

  This property was exceptional. It was so spacious, quiet and had so many facilities.
  
  The (3!) terraces we’re furnished with tables and beautiful plants. There was a barbecue and the kitchen was so well stocked with any utensils you could possibly need, including coffee, sugar, some seasonings.
  
  There were towels, the washing machine was located on the terrace under the stairs and there were tablets there to use with it (we replaced with more).
  
  And finally, it is so beautifully decorated, with art, books, beautiful mirrors and high ceilings throughout. This beautiful home reminded me of my Grandmother and I would definitely stay here again. I was only sorry I wasted luggage space bringing two books, as there were plenty I could have read at the apartment.
  
  Our host was so helpful, he had a key left and instructions to access the apartment, and he visited us on our first evening to ensure everything was in order and to provide any advise we needed.
  
  A great base for exploring Mt Teide and the island as a whole by car. We were 20 minutes from Santa Cruz and 40 to the Adeje area. The peak is Teide is approx 1 hour from here.
  
  Finally, I have to mention the beds – were the most comfortable beds in any accommodation we have ever rented, and there is air conditioning throughout. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here on our next visit to Tenerife.

  Everything! Staying here was a highlight of our holiday. The house was very big and so well furnished and decorated with antique style furniture and paintings. The bed was very comfortable.
  Even the lamps in the bedrooms and the chandelier in the dining room looked very pretty. There are fabulous 3 terraces in the house with pretty trees and plants offering a very good view to the mountains. The kitchen has everything you need and more ! The lounge is very spacious and comfortable. The owner is very kind and helpful. He tries to make sure that you have everything you need. It was like staying in a dream house.
