Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places along Tenerife’s coast, but Casa Sole actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. The address says Guía de Isora, but you’re really in Playa San Juan territory here on Calle Isla de la Gomera, which is this quiet residential street that most tourists never find. I mean, that’s exactly why it works so well.

The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that you just don’t get in typical hotel rooms. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was how the afternoon light hits the living area – there’s something about the way they’ve positioned the windows that makes the whole space feel bigger than it actually is. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, not just some sad mini-fridge situation. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, the local market is literally a five-minute walk and the tomatoes there are incredible (you know how Spanish tomatoes are). The bedroom’s quiet – really quiet – which honestly shocked me because I’m used to hearing scooters and construction at all hours on this island. But this little pocket of streets seems to miss most of the noise.

What really sold me on the place, though, was the location without feeling touristy. You’re about a ten-minute stroll to the actual beach at Playa San Juan, which isn’t the most spectacular beach on the island but it’s got this authentic local vibe. The path down takes you past some older Canarian houses with those traditional wooden balconies, and there’s this little café – I think it’s called Bar Marítimo – where the fishermen actually drink their morning coffee. The owner, Maria, makes this killer tortilla española that honestly ruined me for all other tortillas. From the apartment, you can also see La Gomera island on clear days, floating out there like some mysterious backdrop.

Parking’s easy here, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife’s coastal towns will tell you is basically a miracle. The check-in was smooth – no waiting around in lobbies or dealing with crowds. The whole setup just feels more… I don’t know, human-sized? Like you’re staying in someone’s well-cared-for home rather than some corporate accommodation. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be fancy – it’s just really good at being what it is. If you’re the type who wants to experience a bit of local life instead of being trapped in resort bubble, this is your spot. Fair warning though: you might find yourself not wanting to leave, especially if you hit one of those perfect Canarian evenings when the temperature’s just right and the whole neighborhood settles into that peaceful island rhythm.

  We loved this accommodation (Nº 4) which was very clean, comfortable and tastily decorated. A fantastic situation just steps from the sea-front. The terrace was a real plus. The bed was very comfortable. We managed to park the car not too far away for free. Lots of shops, restaurants and nice sea walks in the area. Access to the apartment was really easy and well explained by David.

  The apartment is spacious, quiet, cozy, clean and pretty 🙂 Located really close to the ocean and a bus stop. We had a whole terrance just for ourself and barely see or hear other guests below us.

  The location is very close to the sea front, it's literally a few minutes down the street in one direction and 60 seconds to the main square in the opposite direction. The accomodation is lovely and spotlessly clean. Our host provided comprehensive instructions before our arrival. There were complimentary food and drinks waiting in the fridge. There is a lovely roof terrace which is perfect to relax in the morning and evenings with very easy access. It was very reasonably priced Vs nearby accomodation. Everything was to a very high standard and this place is very cared for. I would definitely return here if I visited Playa San Juan again.
  
  What could be improved: We couldn't get warm or hot water from the shower. The sink taps dispensed hot water but the bath/shower would not dispense hot water. This being said I still rate this place 10/10 because it was beautiful, immaculate, perfectly located and excellent value.

  Very nice room, great location, nice host. Rooftop terrace and washing machine (didn't use, but for a longer stay it's very handy). Great value for money.

  Me gustó todo, todo súper limpio, tiene todo para poder cocinar. No puedo decir nada malo. No sé cómo será en pleno verano con el ventilador pero en nuestra estancia fue todo súper cómodo. Nos han atendido muy bien y siempre en línea. Puede que volvamos al mismo sitio próximo año.
