You know what hit me first when I pulled up to Casa Rural Anton Piche? The silence. I mean, you’re in El Draguito – which honestly sounds more dramatic than it is – but this little pocket of Granadilla de Abona feels like someone hit the pause button on the world. The hotel sits right on Calle Principal, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s busy. This isn’t your typical Spanish tourist strip.

The whole adults-only thing actually works here, and I say that as someone who’s stayed at places where that label felt more like wishful thinking than reality. The pool area becomes this perfect little sanctuary where you can actually hear yourself think – or better yet, not think at all. What I loved was how the staff seemed to get that balance between being helpful and leaving you alone. Check-in was smooth, no hovering, and they knew exactly which rooms got the best morning light (ask for one facing the courtyard if you’re an early riser like me). The rooms themselves have that authentic rural Spanish feel without being too rustic – you’ve got proper air conditioning, which you’ll definitely want if you’re visiting between June and September, and the beds are actually comfortable. I’ve stayed in enough “charming” places with mattresses that felt like they were stuffed with rocks to appreciate when someone gets the basics right.

Here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re here – you’re perfectly positioned for day trips without being stuck in the chaos of the southern resort towns. Granadilla’s old town is maybe a ten-minute drive, and honestly, wandering those narrow streets in the early evening is worth the trip alone. The local restaurants there don’t cater to tourists, which means you’ll get actual Canarian food at prices that won’t make you wince. But what really sold me on Anton Piche was coming back after a day of exploring, maybe hitting the coastal areas around El Médano (the windsurfing there is incredible, by the way), and just sinking into that pool. There’s something about the way the light hits the water in the late afternoon – very Instagram-worthy, though I mean that in the best way possible. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs to be walking distance from restaurants and shops, this might feel a bit isolated. You’ll want a car, definitely. But for me, that isolation was exactly the point. Sometimes you need a place that feels like a secret, even when it’s hiding in plain sight on the main road.

  Everything was very thoughtful and nice and comfortable and we had great support and advice from our host. Definitely recommended! I would just advice renting a car to reach the destination.

  Clean and quiet place, we had everything we needed and an enchanted garden with a terrace.
  The host was very nice, recommending us some amazing places to visit, restaurants and a nearby supermarket.
  Parking inside the property, there are 3 apartments available each having its own parking spot marked so we didn't have to worry about finding a free spot.
  The beds were especially comfortable, extra pillows and blankets if needed.
