Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Casa Pirámide? The name actually makes sense once you’re standing there – there’s this subtle pyramid-like structure to the building that you don’t quite catch from the photos online. It’s tucked away on Carretera Santa Barbara, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is. I mean, it’s technically a main road, but this part of Icod de los Vinos feels pretty residential and quiet, especially in the evenings when you’re out on that private terrace they mention.
The parking situation is legit, by the way – not one of those “parking available” situations where you’re circling the block for twenty minutes. They’ve got actual designated spots, which if you’ve ever tried to park in some of these Canary Island towns, you’ll appreciate. The WiFi works well too (I was working remotely part of my stay), though honestly, you might find yourself ignoring your laptop once you discover how close you are to the Drago Milenario. That ancient dragon tree is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and most tourists have no idea they can just stroll over there from this place instead of dealing with the main tourist parking areas.
What really won me over was the terrace – it’s properly private, not just some shared space they call “private.” You can actually sit out there with your morning coffee without feeling like you’re on display. The owners have set it up thoughtfully too, with decent outdoor furniture that doesn’t look like it was picked up at a gas station. And the view… well, you’re not getting oceanfront here, but you can see bits of the coastline between the buildings, and the whole vibe is just peaceful. I found myself staying up later than usual just sitting out there, listening to the town settle down for the night.
The interior is clean and functional – three-star accommodations that actually feel like three stars, not like someone just slapped a rating on a basic room. Everything worked properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the whole place has this comfortable, lived-in feeling without being worn down. The owners clearly take care of the property, and it shows in those little details like decent water pressure and a shower that doesn’t flood the bathroom floor.
Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to the historic center – the Plaza de la Pila is maybe ten minutes on foot – but you’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with any street noise or late-night tourist crowds. Icod de los Vinos isn’t exactly a party town anyway, but still, it’s nice to have that buffer. Plus, if you’re planning to explore other parts of Tenerife, you’re well-positioned for day trips without having to navigate through the busier coastal areas every time you want to get somewhere.
Honestly, with that 9.4 rating, I was expecting to find some catch, some reason it wasn’t perfect. But the few minor things – like the WiFi occasionally dropping during peak hours, or the fact that there’s no air conditioning (though the ocean breeze usually takes care of that) – these are pretty standard for this type of accommodation in this part of the island. It’s just a solid, well-run place that delivers on what it promises.

Very modern and well equipped apartment. Nice touches such as wine and snacks on arrival and also rolled towels etc. Everything was immaculately clean. Great cooking facilities allowing us to cook meals. Outside space was a nice perk and lovely to have breakfast in the sunshine.

Tiene aparcamiento y en general todo y que no está bien comunicado, el poder tener el coche bien a mano hace mucho. El apartamento es chiquito pero cumple con todo lo esperado para una estancia más bien reducida de 2-4 dias.
Marta from Spain (9/10)
