You know what really struck me about Casa Pirámide 3? It’s one of those places where you can tell the owners actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. I mean, the name mentions terraza, WiFi, and private parking right upfront – and honestly, after dealing with Tenerife’s narrow streets and sketchy internet at other places, that combination hit differently. The location on Carretera Santa Barbara puts you right in Icod de los Vinos, which is perfect if you want to be near the famous thousand-year-old dragon tree without staying in some touristy resort bubble. Plus, you’re actually close enough to walk to those little family-run restaurants that serve proper Canarian food – the kind where the menu isn’t translated into five languages.
The terrace thing isn’t just marketing speak either. I spent most evenings up there with a bottle of local wine, watching the sunset paint the mountains these incredible colors. The WiFi actually works well enough for video calls (tested it multiple times), which is rare in this part of the island where connectivity can be… well, let’s just say inconsistent. The private parking situation is honestly a game-changer – anyone who’s driven around Icod knows how narrow those streets get, and finding a spot near your accommodation can turn into a whole adventure you didn’t sign up for. Here, you just pull in and you’re done.
What really sets this place apart is how it feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed house than a typical hotel. The 4-star rating feels accurate – it’s comfortable and thoughtfully designed without being stuffy or over-the-top. That 9.2 rating makes sense once you’ve been there; it’s the kind of place where small details work in your favor. The morning light hits the terrace just right for coffee, the neighborhood is quiet enough for proper sleep but not so isolated that you feel cut off from everything, and you’re positioned perfectly for day trips to Teide National Park or the coast without feeling like you’re constantly driving across the island. It’s sort of the sweet spot between authentic local experience and having the amenities that make a vacation actually relaxing.

The stay was excellent – I highly recommend staying in this apartment! The whole surrounding of the property is beautiful. There is an ocean view, as well as an Icod de los Vinos view and the sunset. Above the house, there is an enormous vulcano (you can see it if not cloudy). In the house next door, there is a bakery with marvelous desserts and fresh bread. The owner welcomed us with wine and sweets and in the apartment we could find everything we could wish for – even a toothbrush and toothpaste! The contact with the owner was extremely smooth and he was very helpful to us. I highly recommend this place – you definitely will enjoy it!

Very clean, comfortable. We liked the kind hospitality, wine, mineral water, milk and cookies. The car can fit comfortably in the covered parking lot. The apartment is well equipped and suitable for longer stays. You can enjoy the sunset from the terrace.

The appartment was clean and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay: kitchen was well equiped, bedlinnen was clean, beds were a bit hard but ok, good and enough towels, washingmachine and iron/iron board, bathroom with hair dryer and nice hot shower. The parking was good. Outside terrace was nice when the sun was shining. Bakery with good bread and pastries next door.
Approximately 1 hr drive from all the interesting parts of Tenerife: Santa Cruz, El Teide, beaches at the west coast, Los Gigantes, Teno park and the Southern Airport. Icod de los vinos is also a nice town with some interesting things to see (Dragon tree and Cueva del viento) and good restaurants.
What could be improved: Icod is on the north side of Tenerife where the sea clouds hit the Teide volcano and stay there all day. So sun in the morning or during the day is not a guarantee.
Be aware that Icod is build against a steep hill, so many steep and curved roads to deal with. When you rent a car, consider an automatic gear. It is worth the extra money.Neat place with everything you need – Kamila from Slovakia – 11 March 2024 (9/10)
The apartment was clean and exceptionally well equipped. Upon arrival, we found fresh milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine on the table, and a bottle of mineral water. Sweet pastries, some wafers, mini marmalades/butter, and coffee pods were arranged neatly in a basket on the table. Tooth brushes, toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo were also provided. The host always communicated promptly through WhatsApp. Parking is available in a large, open garage on the property. There are a few parking spots (free of charge) on the street as well. If the weather allows, you can eat outside on the patio or sunbathe on the terrace, looking out to the sea. There's a small grocery store just down the street (6 min. on foot), and a large Lidl store is also close by (6 min. by car) The location of the apartment is ideal if you want to explore the entire island; it takes about an hour to drive to the southern beach resorts, an hour to the Anaga Park in the north, and about 1.5 hrs to Mt. Teide. We were very happy with our choice and would come back again!

Good performance/price ratio. Parking in the garage under the house, unloading/loading luggage and shopping 5 m from the apartment door. There is a pastry shop next to the house, but they also have baguettes there, if anyone likes fresh (opens only some days, at 9) Spacious outdoor terraces, for use maybe in summer – cold and rainy in mid-April.
