You know what caught me off guard about Casa Pirámide? The name makes it sound way more mysterious than it actually is – honestly, I was half-expecting some quirky pyramid-shaped building when I first pulled up to 111 Carretera Santa Barbara. Instead, what you get is this surprisingly solid little place that just… works. And I mean that in the best possible way. The private parking situation alone is worth its weight in gold if you’ve ever tried navigating Icod de los Vinos during grape harvest season (trust me on this one). There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t oversell itself but delivers on the basics really well. The terrace – which is actually the star of the show here – gives you this perfect vantage point where you can see the whole valley stretching out toward the coast. I spent way too many evenings up there with a bottle of the local malvasía, watching the light change on the volcanic slopes.

The location is one of those things that looks random on a map but makes complete sense once you’re there. You’re technically in Icod de los Vinos, but it’s the kind of spot where you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour buses haven’t figured out yet. It’s about a fifteen-minute walk down to the famous drago tree (you know, the massive thousand-year-old dragon tree everyone comes to see), but honestly, I found myself more interested in wandering the opposite direction toward the smaller vineyards where you can actually talk to the people making the wine. The whole area has this lived-in feel that’s getting harder to find on the islands these days. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night – I mean, you’re still close enough to hear life happening in the town below, but there’s none of that constant hum of tourist chaos. The 9.1 rating actually surprised me at first because the place doesn’t scream luxury or anything, but after a few days I got it. It’s the kind of spot that just takes care of the things that matter: decent Wi-Fi, hot water that actually stays hot, and yeah, that private parking I keep mentioning because it’s genuinely a game-changer when you’re trying to explore the northern part of Tenerife without dealing with the bus schedules.

Look, I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t where you go if you want a pool or room service or any of that resort stuff. But if you’re the type who’d rather spend your money on experiences than thread count, and you actually want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with a bit of local character, Casa Pirámide hits that sweet spot. The three-star rating is probably about right, but it’s a solid three stars, not one of those places that’s clearly stretching to meet the minimum requirements. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that the owner clearly gives a damn about – you can tell in the little details, like how the terrace furniture is actually comfortable and positioned to catch the best views, not just crammed in there as an afterthought.

  Very well equipped appartment with plenty of amenities, a terrace and a very nice view on the ocean. Parking is easy and convenient, communication with the host was very efficient. Highly recommended

  The apartment is bigger than expected, everything was very clean, new and very well equipped. The owner's attention to details was noticeable in every corner of the property, including the terrace. ( Bother of wine, sweets, milk for kids, bottle of water for free, family games, lots of towels and toiletries, well equipped kitchen, new pans, towels and umbrella for the beach). The apartment has everything one could need in order to have a pleasant stay and return.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom didn't have a window or ventilation but it has an illuminator and it has a lot of natural light.
  It can get really noisy sometimes because you can hear every single car passing through, luckily it is a low traffic road.

  The apartment is very beautiful, very good equipped, roomy and so clean – it is obvious that owners do care in order that visitors are happy and satisfied. We liked very much the terrace and the view at the ocean.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside was noise from the street (we slept with earplugs and it was okay). Also in one of the bedroom we smelled some mold (maybe from behind the closet?)

  Alojamiento muy bien equipado con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días. Todo parecía como nuevo y en súper buen estado. El apartamento estaba muy limpio y gran detalle por parte del anfitrión con el desayuno y el vino. Además, la plaza de garaje es muy práctica ya que por la zona se aparca mal.
  
  What could be improved: La habitación principal da a la carretera y se escucha bastante ruido de los coches. Se podría poner una luz en el garaje ya que cuando llegas por la noche hay mala iluminación.
