You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of places in southern Tenerife, and Casa Lilo actually surprised me. It’s tucked away on Calle La Sabinita – honestly, I almost missed it the first time because it’s this quiet residential street that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos down in Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. But that’s exactly what makes it special.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s hard to find in most Canarian hotels. The staff genuinely seem to care about getting the details right – I mean, they remembered my name after one night, which sounds small but made a real difference. The rooms have this understated elegance that feels more like staying in a well-appointed friend’s place than a generic hotel. What really got me was the attention to local touches – the tiles in the bathroom are clearly sourced from somewhere nearby, and the balcony furniture is actually comfortable (you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong). The beds are proper firm, which I appreciate, and the air conditioning works without sounding like a jet engine.

Here’s what I really loved though – Casa Lilo sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough away to actually sleep. You can walk to the coast in about ten minutes, hit the proper local bars and restaurants that most tourists never find, but you’re not dealing with the noise and crowds that come with beachfront locations. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward – they’ve got a small lot that’s included, which honestly saves you both money and the headache of street parking in Arona. I spent evenings on the terrace just watching the locals go about their business, and mornings you can actually hear birds instead of construction noise. The breakfast spread leans heavily into local ingredients – proper Canarian tomatoes, cheese from the island, coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. It’s not elaborate, but it’s thoughtful. During my stay in March, the place had this relaxed energy where you could strike up conversations with other guests without feeling like you’re interrupting their vacation schedule. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you spend a couple days there – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without trying to be something it’s not.

  What could be improved: Jedyny minus (nie dla wszystkich to minus) to fakt że basen jest bardzo głęboki i tylko osoby umiejące pływać mogą skorzystać.

  Die Lage ist perfekt wenn man es etwas ruhiger möchte. Das Anwesen besteht aus 3 Häusern, der Pool ist für alle 3 Parteien, was nicht weiter stört weil er groß genug ist. Unser Bungalow war sehr sauber und (wie auch der Rest des Anwesens) sehr gepflegt. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und bei Fragen und Anliegen jederzeit erreichbar. Er antwortete stets innerhalb von wenigen Minuten. Parken kann man direkt vor dem Tor des Anwesens an der Straße, wo immer Platz ist. Die Schlüsselübergabe findet einfach und stressfrei über einen Schlüsselkasten statt.
