I mean, most places claim to be “peaceful” but this one actually delivers – the only sounds you’ll get are maybe some kids playing in the distance and the occasional car puttering by. The whole vibe feels like you’re staying at someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than a typical hotel, which honestly makes sense given the name. The building itself has that authentic Canarian architecture without feeling touristy, and the family that runs it (yes, it’s actually family-owned) treats you like you’re a friend visiting rather than just another booking number.

What really sets this place apart is how they handle the details that most hotels completely overlook. The check-in process is refreshingly personal – they’ll sit down with you and actually explain the local area, not just hand you a generic map. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your suitcase, and the beds are properly comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. I was surprised by how quiet it stays even when fully booked; you’d think with a 9.8 rating it would be constantly buzzing, but the sound insulation is excellent. The WiFi actually works throughout the property (revolutionary concept, I know), and there’s plenty of parking right outside, which is a godsend if you’re planning to explore the island by car.

Here’s the thing about La Jaca that most visitors don’t realize – it’s perfectly positioned between the tourist chaos and the middle-of-nowhere isolation. You’re about fifteen minutes from the main attractions but far enough away that you can escape the crowds when you want to. The local bar down the street serves incredible papas arrugadas, and there’s a small grocery store within walking distance if you need basics. Casa la Familia gets this balance right; they’re close enough to everything you’d want to see but situated where you can actually relax. The staff genuinely knows the area – they’ll point you toward the hiking trails that locals use instead of the overcrowded tourist spots, and they’re honest about timing (like when to avoid certain beaches or which restaurants are worth the drive). It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay if you can, not because there’s endless entertainment on-site, but because it becomes your comfortable base for exploring the real Canary Islands.

  All was perfect. Beach, silence, view, home.
  
  What could be improved: Beds, pillows, Bed linen. Everything is new, but for a perfect holiday in a house like this, they would be better off replaced with something more expensive.

  Der Aufenthalt in dem Haus von Raquel war wunderbar.
  Die Gastgeberin war sehr hilfsbereit , sie gab uns einige Tips.

  De douches zijn geweldig, net als de bedden. Het huis is ruim, comfortabel en schoon. Alles wat je nodig kunt hebben voor een korte vakantie is aanwezig.
  
  What could be improved: Het dorpje is klein en op Google maps lijken er meer voorzieningen te zijn dan er in werkelijkheid zijn. Daar kan de eigenaar van het huis niets aan doen, maar dat was een mini tegenvaller.

  Het was een heel mooi, ruim en schoon appartement met een prachtig uitzicht over zee vanaf het dakterras.
  
  What could be improved: Tegen vallen is een groot woord maar een tip om iets meer servies in de keuken te plaatsen. Glazen en goede koffie kopjes van een gangbaar formaat voor het Dolce Gusto koffiezetapparaat zouden het comfort nog meer verbeteren.
  Daarnaast wat meer toeristische informatie over bezienswaardigheden met de locatie vermelding op het eiland in meerdere talen.

  Prostorný, krásný, čistý apartmán.
  
  What could be improved: Nedostatečné vybavení kuchyně, není to na žádné velké vaření, spíš ohřátí jídel. Stačí dokoupit pár základních věcí jako varečka, síto na těstoviny, lis na česnek, větši pánev :). Jinak super.

  Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Raquel sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig ausgestattet.
  Besonders das Atrium und die Dachteresse mit Blick auf das Meer haben uns sehr gut gefallen. La Jaca ist ein kleines Dorf daher ist ein Mitwagenaus unserer Sicht erforderlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder

  Очень понравился отдых. Подойдет как для двоих, так и семьям. Большой чистый дом, великолепный вид на океан с террасы. Маленький городок с одним магазином, но в нем, в принципе, все есть. Тишина и спокойствие. До аэропорта и ближайшего города 17 километров. Если нужна машина, то лучше поискать заранее.
