So, Casa La Casita – honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to this narrow street in La Guancha, but man, was I wrong. The thing about this place is that it sits right in the heart of what locals call the real Tenerife, you know? Not the touristy southern beaches, but up here where the air actually has that crisp mountain edge to it. C/ La Cascajera is one of those streets where you’ll hear actual Spanish conversations drifting from the café down the block, and the woman at the corner bakery (definitely hit that up for morning pastries) will remember your order by day three.

The hotel itself feels like someone’s stylish aunt decided to open her home to travelers – and I mean that in the best possible way. The rooms have this warm, lived-in quality that four-star places sometimes miss when they’re trying too hard to be sleek. What really got me was the attention to small stuff: the shower pressure is actually decent (thank god), the beds don’t have that hotel-room bounciness that keeps you awake, and there’s this little balcony situation where you can sit with morning coffee and watch the locals do their thing. The walls aren’t paper-thin either, which – let’s be real – matters when you’re trying to sleep and there’s a Spanish family reunion happening next door. Actually, the whole building has this solid, old-school construction that keeps things surprisingly quiet.

Here’s what nobody tells you about La Guancha though – you’re perfectly positioned to explore the real island without dealing with the chaos of the south. The bus connections are surprisingly good (the 345 line basically becomes your best friend), and you’re maybe twenty minutes from some hiking trails that’ll blow your mind. Plus, parking around here isn’t the nightmare it is in Santa Cruz, which is clutch if you’re planning to rent a car. The staff at Casa La Casita seem to actually know the area too, not just the standard tourist script – they pointed me toward this little family restaurant about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise. The whole experience feels genuine in a way that’s getting harder to find, especially at this price point. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort, and that’s exactly why it works.

  Amazingly beautiful apartment with perfect views of the ocean and a quite peaceful atmosphere. A great place to relax with lots of easy to get to amenities like grocery and gas nearby. We had a fantastic time.

  Very good communication from Antonio prior to our stay.
  Easy secure on site parking right outside our door. The house is situated in a rural quiet area within easy access to the TF5 main road.
  Great views from one side to Mount Teide and the other to the ocean.
  The outside space is larger than the pictures suggest, the kitchen and summer room were very good.
  The outstanding part is the bedroom, large with a vaulted roof and two double beds which were very comfortable. The house is a little quirky in that the shower is downstairs.
  Not much in Santo Domingo but great access to the coast on either side, inland towns and of course to Teide.
  Worth knowing about El Pris, fish restaurants and nearby Mesa del Mar which has lots of parking and a large sea water swimming pool and sun deck,
  Also worth looking out for the Guachinche restaurants in this part of Tenerife.

  The house is beautiful. Sea views from the back garden terrace, Mt Teide views from the front. The place is very well equipped, clean and full of character. The communication from the host was excellent, check in was easy via key lockbox. A car would be most ideal for the location but we found getting around via bus easy enough (if you're fit enough to walk up the hill to the main road). Sunrise from the terrace every morning with a coffee was a treat. We also loved our visits from the local chickens every morning 🙂

  Spacious apartment with large terrace area with dining area. Very well equipped including some wine, beer and fruit to welcome us. Views to the sea on 1 side and views of El Teide on the other.

  The view was amazing: one site – the ocean, the other side – mtn Teide. The yard was always cooler than the rest of the hot island. And the village is very calm and silent.
  
  What could be improved: The address was not easily located by GPS. Luckily we got the exact link via WatsApp.

  A nice rural house with a large veranda and double terrace. A fantastic BBQ facility (and everything was ready). You can enjoy the views of El Teide and the ocean. Friendly owner.

  The view is so great and the flat is really convenient.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom is a bit small and the heater is not big enough for the winter time. The showers were shorts! But a bit of organisation solve this little problem.
