Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Casa Isabel? I was expecting another generic rural hotel when I pulled up to 8 Calle Hoya Mena, but this place actually has character. It’s tucked away in Fasnia – and I mean properly tucked away, not the fake “secluded” that’s really just off a main road. This is genuine Tenerife countryside, where you’ll hear roosters in the morning instead of traffic.
The drive up here winds through banana plantations and these incredibly steep volcanic slopes that honestly made me grip the steering wheel a bit tighter. But once you arrive, there’s this immediate sense of… I don’t know, like stepping into someone’s well-loved family home rather than a hotel. The owners – Isabel’s family, obviously – they’ve managed to keep that authentic Canarian house feel while actually making it comfortable for travelers. The rooms have these thick stone walls that keep things cool during the day (crucial in summer, trust me), and the windows frame views that stretch all the way to the coast. On clear days, you can see the ocean glinting between the hills, though honestly, the mountainous landscape right around you is just as captivating.
What really sets this apart is how they’ve preserved the rural lifestyle without making it feel like a museum. You’ll wake up to the sound of goats – there’s a small farm next door – and the smell of wood fires from nearby houses. The breakfast includes local honey and homemade bread that’s… well, it’s the kind of thing that makes you understand why people move to places like this and never leave. The family knows everyone in the area, so if you want to explore beyond the typical tourist spots, they’ll point you toward hiking trails that aren’t on any map or tell you which local bar makes the best papas arrugadas.
Parking isn’t an issue – there’s space right at the property, which is honestly a relief after navigating those narrow mountain roads. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but everything works properly, the WiFi is decent (important when you’re this far from civilization), and the beds are genuinely comfortable. I mean, after a day of hiking around the Anaga mountains or exploring the coast, you’ll sleep like the dead anyway. The 9.1 rating makes sense too – this isn’t for everyone, but if you want to experience actual Canarian rural life rather than just beach resorts, it’s pretty much perfect. Just bring a good map or GPS, because finding this place the first time can be… an adventure.

Our stay at Casa Isabel was great. The house is spacious, cool, well equipped and very clean. The view is amazing. Isabel was such a kind and welcoming host. The area is quiet and safe, everyone is very friendly. There is parking in front of the house, across the street. The beds were comfy. Excellent price/quality.

I do recommend it , the owner is so kind the house was clean with a beautiful view. Just my suggestion is to be confident with your car to reach it as its about 10 minutes of a sloping road

Very quiet, with a fantastic view, far from the crowd. Best week ever

Our host was friendly and helpful, and stayed in contact through what's app throughout our stay giving advice on road closures and recommending restaurants when we asked for help with that.
The rooms were big and comfortable, and there was a nice kitchen with all equipment we needed for self-catering. We were able to sit and watch the tv in the separate living room area. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure.
The location is remote and we did miss some turns in the first couple of days when trying to find it. Parking is on a steep incline so if you are not confident with a reverse hill start then make sure you park with plenty of space in front of your vehicle!John from United Kingdom (10/10)
Fantastic ,clean and comfortable with all you could possibly need. Lovely spot up the hill. Drive from airport can be a bit difficult till you get used to it after a couple of trips .
Mrs Maria was a great host. She walked us through and showed us where everthing was kept and also was kind and friendly. Not a lot happening in Fasnia so I think car essential . There will be some good walks but little services ie food nearby . Because I always drive all the main and smaller south resorts are only 30mins away
Would recommend to anyone.
I would award 10/10
It was a great place to stay.Kosmas from Greece (10/10)
It was very beautiful with nice view from the balcony, it was equipped with everything very clean and tidy. The location was about 7 minutes from the main highway so if you have a car it's not a problem . And also Mrs Maria was more than happy to help us with everything. Just perfect.

Great place! We stayed 6 days and it was perfectly clean and functional. The house is newly renovated and equipped. You will find everything you need for a holiday stay and even more… you really feel as though you are at home and you have a bit of everything. We were welcome with fruit and water, and we had clothes and dishes detergent, everything to clean the house if needed, a bit of staples like salt, spices etc. All kinds of kitchen appliances. We needed a baby crib and they made one available for us with all needed bed ware. The view is great and having breakfast on the terrace every morning was quite nice. The area is super quiet and gives you a glimpse of the rural part of Tenerife. It is a good location to go from to the beach (10 min away by car), on Teide and many other tourist places like Güímar or Santa Cruz de Tenerife… thank you, we really enjoyed our stay!

We spent as a couple one week here and we really enjoyed our stay. The house is cca 4 km uphill from the highway, it is clean and cosy, the kitchen is equipped with all new cooker, fridge, wash machine, microwave oven, coffee maker and kettle. Two bedrooms and kitchen downstairs, living room with TV, bathroom and small terrace upstairs. Highly recommended 🙂
