Hotel Description

You know what? I almost walked right past Casa Gloria on my first night in Los Abrigos – and honestly, that would’ve been a massive mistake. It’s tucked away on Calle el Ancla (literally “Anchor Street,” which is pretty perfect for this little fishing village), and from the outside, it looks like just another residential building. But step inside, and you immediately get why this place has a 9.5 rating.

The thing about Los Abrigos is that it’s not where most tourists end up – I mean, you’re about fifteen minutes from the airport, but it feels like you’ve discovered some secret corner of Tenerife that the guidebooks forgot to mention. The hotel sits right in the heart of this tiny fishing port, and I loved falling asleep to the sound of fishing boats heading out in the early morning. Casa Gloria gets the location just right – close enough to the harbor that you can smell the salt air and hear the gentle clatter of rigging, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with any serious noise. The staff actually told me that most guests stumble onto Los Abrigos by accident and end up extending their stays because the village has this incredibly relaxed vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere on the island.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to feel like a boutique property without any of that pretentious stuff. The rooms are genuinely comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the WiFi actually works, and – this matters more than you’d think – the shower pressure is fantastic. But here’s what I didn’t expect: the local knowledge. The front desk guy, Miguel, didn’t just give me restaurant recommendations; he walked me down to introduce me to his cousin who runs the best seafood place in town. That kind of thing doesn’t happen at chain hotels. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s street parking right outside, and during my stay in October, I never had trouble finding a spot. I imagine summer might be trickier, but honestly, most people don’t even know Los Abrigos exists, so it’s never as crowded as the main resort areas. The whole village basically revolves around this tiny harbor where local fishermen still bring in their catch every morning, and you can walk the entire place in about ten minutes. If you’re looking for nightlife and shopping, you’ll need to drive somewhere else – but if you want to experience a slice of authentic Canarian life while still having a really comfortable place to sleep, Casa Gloria nails it perfectly.

This wonderful apartment is a true gem of private rentals. It is a nicely and fully equipped flat with one big living room with eating/cooking area, sporting beautiful view of Pico de Teide. There are two bedrooms with comfy beds and bathroom with shower and bath tub. And there is a private rooftop terrace to enjoy your breakfast or dinner with sunrise or sunset. There were lot of amenities provided in the bathroom such as aloe vera cooling balm and a battery of towels. There was even welcome wine and fruits provided. Apartment is located above supermarket for convenient shopping and about 300m from natural sea pools and 500m from marina with lot of restaurants. The hosts are very nice people too and were very kind and helpful.
