You know what struck me first about Casa Flora Garden Studio? The name actually makes sense – there’s this lovely little garden that greets you right when you arrive on Calle San Pedro, and honestly, it sets the tone for the whole experience. I mean, Sauzal isn’t exactly on every tourist’s radar (it’s tucked up in the hills above Puerto de la Cruz), but that’s sort of the point. You get this authentic Canarian vibe without the cruise ship crowds.

The studio itself is one of those places that feels bigger than it should – I think it’s because they’ve got the layout just right, with these lovely French doors that open onto the garden space. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need: proper WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, a kitchen setup where you can actually cook (not just reheat), and – this is key – really good water pressure in the shower. Small things, but they matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The whole place has this relaxed, lived-in feel that’s way more comfortable than those sterile hotel rooms you usually get. Plus, parking is right there, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife’s winding roads will appreciate.

What really won me over though is the location – you’re literally a five-minute walk from the heart of Sauzal, where there’s this fantastic little plaza and some genuinely good local restaurants (try the papas arrugadas at Bar Plaza, seriously). But here’s the thing: you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the north coast without dealing with Puerto de la Cruz traffic every day. The coastal path that runs along the cliffs? It’s right there, and the views over to Mount Teide on clear mornings are absolutely spectacular. I actually found myself getting up early just to catch the sunrise from the garden – not something I usually do on vacation, but the light here is something else. The whole setup just works, you know? It’s got that 9.2 rating for good reason, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back. It’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, it’s just genuinely comfortable and well-thought-out.

  Little piece of paradise, everything was perfect, very clean, the view on the village, the ocean, and the volcano is incredible. It's even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. Very cute little village, parking in the street easy to find, very quiet place. We're already thinking about coming back.

  The landlady is fostering her little jungle with love – a romantic place to be! Equipment and facilities satisfy almost every wish with the fireplace (with firewood already provided) on the shared terrace as a bonus on top.

  Tout était parfait. Propreté du logement, literie très confortable, jardin magnifique, petite et grande terrasse à disposition, le calme…
  Le village de El Sauzal est vraiment très beau avec vues exceptionnelles sur l'océan et le Teide.
  Il faut faire la visite du petit Parque Los Lavaderos de El Sauzal.
