Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Casa Felipe IV – I mean, it’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Adeje that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones hiding in plain sight. The moment I walked through those doors, I could tell this wasn’t your typical cookie-cutter hotel experience.
The thing about Casa Felipe IV is that it feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a commercial property. The owners – and I actually got to chat with them during my stay – have this genuine way of making you feel like you belong there. They know the neighborhood inside and out, which is huge when you’re trying to figure out where the locals actually eat (hint: skip the tourist traps down by the marina and ask them for recommendations). The rooms themselves have this understated elegance that works really well – nothing flashy, but everything you need is there and it’s all quality stuff. I particularly loved how quiet it was at night, which is saying something since I’m usually the person complaining about paper-thin walls and street noise.
What really sets this place apart though is the location itself. You’re in this authentic part of Adeje where actual Canarians live and work, not just the resort bubble that most visitors never escape. I’d walk down to the local market in the mornings – it’s maybe a seven-minute stroll – and grab fresh bread and coffee, then spend the afternoon exploring the volcanic hiking trails that start practically at the hotel’s doorstep. The staff pointed me toward this incredible trail that leads up into the mountains, and I’m pretty sure I was the only tourist up there all day. When I wanted beach time, Costa Adeje was close enough (you can drive there in ten minutes), but I loved having this peaceful base to come back to. The whole experience felt… well, real, I guess. Like I was actually experiencing Tenerife instead of just visiting it. That 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve spent a few days there – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it is.

Ubytování bylo moderní v klidném městečku – do 5 min jste na dálnici. Kuchyň je plně vybavená. K dispozici je i pračka se sušičkou. Free parkování je poblíž. Hostitel byl vždycky nápomocný. Rádi se sem vrátíme. Děkujeme!
Sehr hochwertige Wohnung in ruhiger Lage zum Entspannen – Klaudia from Austria – 6 December 2024 (10/10)
Extrem hochwertig ausgestattete Wohnung im Parterre in Ruhelage, sehr schöne Terrasse in Südlage mit Blick auf den herrlichen Garten. Schlafzimmer befindet sich oben ( eine Stiege hoch ). In der Wohnung war für die Selbstverpflegung alles vorhanden. Es hat alles wunderbar funktioniert. Patrice, der Host, war sehr nett und hilfsbereit und erteilte auch Auskünfte für die nahe Umgebung. Felipe, der Dackel, war ein ganz, ganz lieber Kerl, den man nur liebhaben kann. Die Lage in Tiocco Bajo ist sehr nahe zu den schönen Stränden im Südwesten der Insel. Patrice hat mir einen Sonnenschirm und eine Wasserflasche geliehen. Das von ihm selbst präparierte Wasser ( mit Filter ) schmeckt ziemlich gut und kann unbeschränkt entnommen werden. Es stehen im Gang zwei Waschmaschinen mit Waschmittel und ein Trockner zur Verfügung. Insgesamt habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt und ich kann die Unterkunft unbeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
