Casa Evarista Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Casa Evarista, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the outside — it’s tucked along a quiet stretch of road in Icod de los Vinos. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property has that authentic Canarian charm that feels refreshingly genuine, not like those cookie-cutter resort hotels you see everywhere. The building itself has character, with traditional architecture that actually fits the landscape instead of fighting against it.

Location & Local Charm

Icod de los Vinos isn’t your typical tourist hotspot, and that’s exactly why I loved staying here. You’re about a 20-minute drive from the coast, which means you get those stunning Tenerife views without the crowds. The famous thousand-year-old dragon tree is practically around the corner — I mean, you could walk there if you wanted to stretch your legs. What really struck me was how the locals still outnumber the tourists here, so you get a real taste of Canarian life. Plus, that free parking situation? Trust me, after dealing with parking nightmares in other parts of the Canaries, this felt like winning the lottery.

The Accommodation

My room was surprisingly spacious for what I paid, with those thick walls that keep things cool during the day and cozy at night. The décor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and local touches — nothing too fancy, but everything works perfectly. The bed was actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the bathroom had decent water pressure. What I appreciated most was the attention to details that matter: good WiFi, proper lighting for reading, and windows that actually open to let in that mountain air.

Dining & Daily Rhythms

The on-site restaurant serves up honest Canarian food that doesn’t try too hard to impress tourists. I had some of the best papas arrugadas here, and their local wine selection is solid — makes sense, considering you’re literally in wine country. Breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it’s fresh and filling, with local cheeses and fruits that taste like they were picked yesterday. The staff here actually seems to enjoy their work, which creates this relaxed atmosphere where you don’t feel rushed through your meals.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about Casa Evarista — it’s not trying to be something it’s not. Couples seem to really connect with this place because it offers that perfect mix of comfort and authenticity without breaking the bank. You’re close enough to explore the island’s highlights, but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually relax. The fact that recent guests rated the location so highly tells you everything — sometimes the best experiences happen in places you didn’t expect to find them. It’s the kind of spot where you end up staying an extra night just because leaving feels too rushed.
