The golf club proximity is real – I mean, you can literally hear the early morning golfers teeing off if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s more charming than annoying. What really got me was how the staff actually knew the area. When I asked about getting to the coast, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist beaches. They sent me down these winding roads to little coves that honestly felt like local secrets. The woman at reception (I think her name was Carmen?) grew up in Tacoronte and could tell you which guachinche serves the best papas arrugadas on any given day of the week. That kind of local knowledge is worth its weight in gold.

The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between luxury and livability. Four stars that feel earned, not inflated. The beds are actually comfortable – not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you feeling like you wrestled with concrete all night. Air conditioning works properly (crucial in summer), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which… well, anyone who’s traveled around the Canary Islands knows that’s not always guaranteed. Parking is straightforward too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dragging luggage around after a long travel day. The whole place has this lived-in elegance – fancy enough that you feel like you’re treating yourself, but not so precious that you’re afraid to actually relax. I spent most evenings on the terrace with a bottle of local wine, watching the sun disappear behind the mountains, and it just felt right. You’re close enough to Santa Cruz that you can easily explore the capital, but far enough out that you get to experience actual Tenerife life. The 8.5 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the island, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re trying to have a good time.
