Hotel Description

You know what? Casa Candelaria caught me completely off guard. I’d driven through La Guancha plenty of times on my way to other parts of Tenerife, but I’d never actually stopped to explore this little corner of the island. The hotel sits right on Calle Hoya Pablo – honestly, it’s one of those streets you’d miss if you weren’t looking for it, tucked away from the main tourist routes but still incredibly easy to find once you know where you’re going. The building itself has this understated charm that feels authentically Canarian rather than trying too hard to impress visitors.

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel both local and welcoming to outsiders. The staff – and I mean this genuinely – seem to actually care about whether you’re having a good time. Check-in was smooth (no standing around for twenty minutes while they figure out their system), and they gave me some solid recommendations for places to eat that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star property, but honestly, they’re maintained better than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at. Everything works – the shower has proper pressure, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the beds are actually comfortable. I slept better here than I have at fancier hotels where you’re paying twice as much for marble bathrooms and fancy toiletries.

The location is sort of perfect if you want to experience real Tenerife without completely avoiding the conveniences. La Guancha itself is this working town that hasn’t been completely transformed by tourism – you’ll hear Spanish conversations in the cafés, see locals going about their daily business, but you’re still only a short drive from the coast or the more touristy areas if that’s your thing. Parking wasn’t a nightmare, which honestly was a relief after dealing with some of the coastal towns. The area gets quieter in the evenings, which I actually appreciated after long days of exploring. There’s something nice about coming back to a place where you can hear yourself think. The hotel’s 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t need to be right in the thick of the tourist action, Casa Candelaria delivers exactly what you’d hope for.

  Perfect location to discover north of the Tenerife, though might be hard to reach without a car. Beautfiful, cosy house. Comfortable beds. Fully supplied kitchen. Awesome views. Great host, showed us everything.

  Piękne miejsce, z widokiem na ocean a z drugiej strony na wulkan Teide. Do dyspozycji ogród z egzotycznymi roślinami: drzewka cytrynowe i pomarańczowe, bananowce a także altanki, leżaki i basenik. Gospodarze powitali nas białym winem i kwiatami wkomponowanymi w misternie ułożone ręczniki. Serdecznie polecam to miesce dla osób pragnących odpoczywać w ciszy, zdala od zgiełku turystycznego.   Gražus kiemas ir visa aplinka. Turėjome savo grilį ir baseiną. Buvo šildytuvas ir židinys. Lovos ir pagalvės patogios, geras dušo spaudimas ir karštis.

  Eigenes Haus mit Pool und toller Ausstattung. Die Heizung war zwar defekt, Aber auf Anfrage haben wir kurzfristig direkt eine neue bekommen. Das Gelände selbst ist abgesperrt und man kann fast direkt am Haus parken.

  Uroczy domek. Piękny ogród. Niestety było za zimno żeby skorzystać z basenu.
  Poniżej jest super restauracja.
  Podczas pobytu miasto wyłączyło wodę w całej okolicy. Gospodarz stanął na wysokości zadania i zrobił wszytko zebyśmy mogli jednak skorzystać z prysznica.

  Super Ausblick. Möglichkeiten auf der allgemeinen Terrasse zu sitzen oder im Pavillon. Schöne gepflegte Vegetation mit Orangen- und Zitronenbäumchen. Schöner Pool mit Blick auf den Vulkan Teide

  Saubere und gepflegte Anlage. Die Wohnung bietet alles was man braucht, (Ein paar Geschirrtücher in der Küche wären für uns noch nützlich gewesen).
  Man hat einen wunderschönen Blick herab auf die Küste. Alles ist gepflegt und sauber.
  Den Pool fanden wir und unser Sohn besonders toll.
  Der Ort ist ruhig gelegen und per Auto prima zu erreichen. Von der Lage aus kann man sehr gut die gesamte Insel erkunden. Man hat einen schönen Blick auf den Teide. Neben der Anlage gibt es ein sehr gutes Restaurant, welches Grillduft versprüht (als Info für empfindliche Naturen).
  Der Inhaber hat uns alles gezeigt und war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Für Familien sehr empfehlenswert.

  Super tolles, typisches Haus in Spitzenlage für Wanderungen und Ausflüge auf der ganzen Insel. Es hat alles prima geklappt, die Aussicht ist der Hammer und gleich nebenan in der "Bodegón 7 Islas" gibt's den besten "queso con mil y mojo" den ich bisher auf Teneriffa gegessen habe. Und für meinen Mann Fleisch : ). Für uns ein absoluter Glücksgriff für einen entspannten Urlaub.
