Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Casa Canarina? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet little street in Santa Úrsula where you wouldn’t expect to find such a gem. I mean, Castaños is basically a residential road, but that’s exactly what makes this place special – you get all the charm of staying in a real Canarian neighborhood without the tourist crowds that hit the bigger resorts down the coast. The building itself has this lovely traditional architecture that doesn’t scream “hotel,” which I honestly loved. It felt more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste in furnishings and a serious eye for detail.
The staff here actually knows the area – not just the standard tourist recommendations, but real insider stuff. When I asked about hiking trails, they pointed me toward this lesser-known path that connects to the Anaga Mountains, and honestly, it was the highlight of my trip. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star place, but with these thoughtful touches that show someone really cares about the guest experience. The beds are properly comfortable (not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in Spanish hotels), and the bathrooms have this beautiful local tile work that probably costs more than most places would bother with. What really impressed me was the soundproofing – even though you’re in a residential area where people actually live and work, the rooms stay surprisingly quiet. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but they’ve got arrangements that actually work, unlike some places where you’re circling the block at midnight with your luggage.
Here’s the thing about Santa Úrsula that most people don’t realize – you’re perfectly positioned between the tourist action and the authentic Canarian experience. Casa Canarina gets this balance exactly right. You can walk to local bars where they don’t automatically hand you an English menu, but you’re still close enough to the main coastal attractions when you want them. The whole area has this laid-back vibe that’s hard to find in the more popular spots, and the hotel staff seems to genuinely enjoy sharing what makes their corner of Tenerife special. With an 8.6 rating, you know people are leaving happy, and after staying here, I totally get why. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island – it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it is.

Exceptional – Thomas from Switzerland – 6 March 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful old house. Great setting in the vineyards. Perfect location on the island with magnificent views east and west along the north Coast, and of Teide. Pleasant country atmosphere. Wonderful, helpful hosts Catherine and Damian.
Remote stay in a beautiful area with welcoming guests! – Octavian from Romania – 23 April 2024 (10/10)
Very tidy, amazing garden
What could be improved: First two days it was very hot outside and we had to open all windows and let the air flow in the house. No other complaints!Exceptional – Thomas from Switzerland – 28 February 2024 (10/10)
Charming old traditional house, surrounded by lush vegetation, set in the vineyards. Plenty of space. Beautiful east and west views along the north shores of Tenerife. Lovely, always very helpful hosts.
What could be improved: Sometimes people from the neighboring Cabana would walk around on the roof terrace, which is right above the bedroom, where one hears every step. This is annoying when one is trying to sleep or just relax.Exceptional – Valerio from Italy – 22 November 2023 (10/10)
The house is a very fascinating vintage structure from 1822.
You will find everything you need for your stay.Superb – Thomas from Germany – 20 August 2023 (9/10)
Very nice Finka at a nice location! It's far up in the wine yards but still has shopping and very good restaurants within walking distance. The streets are steep (and I mean steep!), thought.
Climat is very plessent and mild!Good – Yael from Israel – 19 February 2024 (7/10)
Beautiful view, the shower was great, hot water and good flow. Catheine was very kind when letting us in.
It was fine for our needs and we cooked every night.
What could be improved: We stayed in the wooden cabin in the back, not the house. It needs renewing of towels, beddings and kitchenware. The knives are not sharp, all seems like miscellaneous of old stuff. The garden could also use some care.SEJOUR EXCEPTIONNEL – Mahieu from France – 3 July 2025 (10/10)

Superb – Jonatan from Spain – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
