Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Casa Playa Chica on Calle Guajara, I wasn’t expecting much. The address had me thinking it’d be right in the thick of Puerto de la Cruz’s tourist chaos, but actually, being in Punta Brava means you’re sort of tucked away from all that madness while still being close enough to walk to the main drag when you want to. The thing is, this little stretch feels more like a neighborhood than a hotel zone, you know? You’ve got actual locals walking their dogs in the morning, and the sound of waves is constant but not overwhelming – it’s that perfect background noise that actually helps you sleep better.
What really got me was how the place manages to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. I mean, it’s definitely a proper 4-star setup with all the stuff you’d expect, but there’s something refreshingly un-fancy about it. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to impress, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending your days exploring Tenerife and just need a solid base. The staff actually knows the area – like, really knows it. When I asked about avoiding the cruise ship crowds at the beaches, they pointed me toward some spots that I never would’ve found on my own. And parking? Well, it’s not always a breeze (this is still the Canary Islands after all), but they’ve got it figured out better than most places in the area.
Here’s what I keep coming back to about this place – it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Puerto de la Cruz’s restaurants and that famous natural pool area, but far enough from the main hotel strip that you’re not dealing with tour groups clogging up the elevators at 7 AM. The whole Punta Brava area has this slightly more authentic feel, especially if you venture out toward the coast in the evenings when the day-trippers have cleared out. You’ll hear some street noise during the day – it’s Spain, after all – but nothing that ruins the vibe. That 8.1 rating makes sense to me because it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the bells and whistles in the world.

The balcony overlooking the sea and being so close to the beach is wonderful. There are some nice restaurants nearby. Check-in and check-out were really easy.

Great view, close to the Loro Parque. The owner was dedicated to help A.S.A.P. and solve some issues in the apartment.
What could be improved: The main reason to book this apartment was vicinity of the beach as it was presented on pictures. But.. beach is closed for a while, it is poluted. So, if you are planing to take a swim or to whatch your kids playing in the send…you are not on the right place. Also, apartment should be renovated, the furniture is back from the 80s. There was a smell of dampness. Ok, it is on the sea, but it should be solved. For the first time ever, pictures on the booking.com fooled me. Although i have 15 years experience with booking facilities worldwide. There is a picture with mark 9.7 from couple of years ago, it is 8.8 at the moment on reviews, but it should be much less. It could be 9 if owner decide to renovate it. Hope he'll do it. However, for all above mentioned, we decided to leave this apartment two days before check out (4 days booked) and move to a better place with our kids. That was our decision. What could be improved: Balcony and the chairs and table on the balcony maybe could have been cleaned before arrival. The apartment is amazing located right on the water it is spacious and can accommodate 4 people. Carlos is very friendly and will help you with anything you need. This is a great apartment!

Atraktivní lokalita ( až na momentální problém s plážemi). Samostatný vchod z úzké uličky rybářské osady Punta Brava, v prvním patře nad malou pláží. Ubytování jsme využili pro návštěvu Loro Parque a prohlídku města. Byt je čistý, prostorný, dobře vybavený. Osobní check-in panem Carlosem, který obratem komunikoval všechny naše problémy. Pro zimní období, kdy se byt neprohřeje, je k dispozici topení a odvlhčovač kvůli případným plísním. Parkování jsme našli.
What could be improved: Havárie v Puerto de la Cruz: od července 2024 na malou pláž pod oknem vytéká odpadní voda z prasklého kanalizačního potrubí, municipalita již připravuje opravu. Uzavřena páskami je i přilehlá Playa Jardin.Genial! – David from Spain – 13 June 2024 (9/10)

Die Lage ist top. Wir haben den direkten Meeranschluss sehr genossen.
Als Willkommensgruss gab es eine Flasche Rotwein, 2 Mineralwasser und Bananen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, Dolce gusto Kapsel-Kaffeemaschine (einige Kapseln waren vorhanden), Wasserkocher, ein paar Gewürze, Essig, Öl, Mikrowelle, grosser Kühlschrank und Gefrierfächer. Und auch sonst fehlte es an nichts in der Wohnung. Toll war auch, dass es Abwaschmittel, Haushaltpapier und genügend Toilettenpapier hatte. Auf Anfrage erhielten wir promlemlos frische Handtücher. Carlos hat immer sehr schnell auf Fragen reagiert.
What could be improved: Die Wohnung bekommt nie Sonne. Trotzdem konnten wir jeden Morgen draussen frühstücken. Auf der Terrasse hatten wir am Vormittag kurz in einer Ecke etwas Sonne. Dies merkte man in der Wohnung. Es war kühl und in den Kästen riecht man dies auch.
Das Sofa ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen.
