Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Santiago 25 in Abades, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in humble packages. This little bungalow sits right on the edge of this quiet fishing village that most tourists completely skip over on their way to the flashier resorts up the coast. And honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special.

The sea view they advertise? It’s legit – not some squint-through-the-palm-trees situation. From the terrace, you’re looking straight out at the Atlantic, and on clear days (which, let’s face it, is most days in this part of Tenerife), you can actually see La Palma floating on the horizon. The bungalow itself is nothing fancy – think clean lines, functional furniture, that slightly dated but comfortable vibe that Spanish coastal properties tend to have. But here’s the thing: it works. The kitchen’s got everything you actually need, not just the bare minimum, and the bedroom stays surprisingly cool even during those brutal August afternoons when the rest of the island feels like an oven.

What really sold me on this place, though, was stepping outside and realizing I’d stumbled into one of those rare spots where locals still outnumber tourists. The little harbor down the hill – maybe a three-minute walk – has this family-run restaurant where the pescado del día is whatever the boats brought in that morning. No menu, just whatever’s fresh. And the old guys playing dominoes under the shade of the sea grape trees? They’ve been doing that same routine for decades, completely unbothered by the handful of visitors who wander down to take photos. There’s something genuinely relaxing about falling asleep to the sound of waves instead of air conditioning units and pool parties. Sure, you’re trading some amenities for authenticity here – don’t expect a spa or room service – but if you’re the type who’d rather explore authentic Canarian life than sit by a crowded hotel pool, this little bungalow hits that sweet spot. Plus, parking’s never an issue (try finding that in Los Cristianos), and you’re still only about 20 minutes from the airport when reality comes calling.

  Very close to the beach and shop, quiet place to spend holiday, possibility of parking nearby. Relatively spacious accommodation. The welcome bottle of wine was very nice.

  the apartment was spacious and clean, great location and very close to the beach, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice touch. Even though there was a bit of hiccup on our 1. night = a power outage in the whole complex, the staff was helpful and offered assistance. Highly recommended to anyone seeking relaxing and enjoyable stay on the island

  Traumhafte Lage! Wir haben jeden Morgen den Sonnenaufgang über dem Meer genossen.
  Alles da, was man braucht, um einen entspannten Urlaub zu machen.
  Zur Begrüßung gabs einen leckeren Rotwein. Auch der telefonische Kontakt war sehr nett und zu meinem Glück auch deutschsprachig, was die Kommunikation wesentlich vereinfachte. Wir waren rundum zufrieden!
  
  What could be improved: Eigentlich nur das Wetter. Von unsere 9 Tagen hatten wir 7Tage stürmisch. Aber das lässt sich nun mal nicht buchen

  Super zentral gelegen. Ganz nah am Strand. Ganz nah an den Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Kleine Restaurants in der Nähe. Parkplatz immer vorhanden. Toller Ausblick.
