You know what struck me first about the H10 Big Sur? It’s tucked right on Avenida Juan Carlos I, which honestly sounds more impressive than it looks – but that’s actually perfect because you’re literally a two-minute walk from the main Los Cristianos beach without being stuck in the thick of all that tourist chaos. I mean, Los Cristianos can get pretty intense, especially when the ferry crowds are heading to La Gomera, but this spot gives you that sweet balance of being close enough to everything while still feeling like you can actually breathe.

The adults-only thing isn’t just marketing speak here – they really commit to it, and honestly, it makes such a difference. The pool area has this chill vibe where you can actually hear yourself think, which is rare in this part of Tenerife. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing revolutionary but thoughtfully done. I particularly loved how they’ve managed the sound insulation – you’re close enough to the action that you can walk to those great fish restaurants near the harbor (definitely hit up the ones the locals go to, not the touristy spots right on the beach), but you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling back at 3 AM. The whole place feels more… curated, I guess? Like someone actually thought about what adults on vacation really want.

What really sells this place for me is how it sits in Los Cristianos’ geography. You’ve got the black sand beach right there – and before you wrinkle your nose, the black sand is actually amazing once you get used to it, way less crowded than the artificial beaches up north. Plus you can walk to the ferry terminal if you’re planning day trips to La Gomera (which you should), and there’s actual good coffee within walking distance, not just hotel lobby stuff. The staff seem to get that most guests aren’t first-time visitors to the Canaries – they’re pretty low-key with the tourist information but genuinely helpful when you need something specific. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and they actually seem to care about things like having decent water pressure and blackout curtains that work properly. It’s those little details that make you realize why this place consistently gets ratings in the mid-8s. Sure, it’s not the fanciest hotel on the island, but it’s the kind of place where you can settle in and actually feel like you’re on vacation rather than just staying somewhere.

  I had an amazing stay! the staff is very kind and helpful, the food is tasty and fresh, and the room is of good size with unique view and details in the bedroom. From the hotel it is possible to take long and relaxing walks, there is a bus-stop nearby and several shops and restaurants. I recommend taking gym-yoga courses! the teacher is so nice and friendly and will make you feel comfortable even if you try the activity for the first time. Yoga on the top-terrace was super!

  Everything was excellent—better than expected! The atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. Just a note for younger travelers: the place tends to attract a senior crowd, so if you’re looking to meet people in your age group, it might be a bit challenging. Otherwise, a fantastic experience!

  + Gate with direct access to sea promenade and short walk to bakery, pharmacy, supermarket and the not-so-nice beach in the harbour area
  + Rich wellness programme with five classes per day. I attended two excellent Yoga classes on the rooftop with ocean view!

  I couldn´t have asked for more. It was amazing. from the welcome drink at the reception desk on arrival, beautiful pool area with bar and a restaurant where you could watch and hear the ocean. Room was wonderful, spotless clean with a great shower, comfortable beds and a big balcony. All the staff was amazing and the food was great as well

  We were thrilled with how warmly we were welcomed—starting with mimosas upon arrival! Check-in was a breeze, and our room was spacious, spotless, and kept that way thanks to the daily housekeeping. The bathroom had everything we could need, which was so convenient. Since we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they went the extra mile to surprise us with bubbly and a delightful treat in our room—such a thoughtful touch!
  
  The hotel’s beachfront exit made it super easy to enjoy lovely strolls along the shore. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff were genuinely friendly and always greeted us with a smile as we passed by. All in all, it was an amazing stay, and we can’t wait to return!
