Hotel Description
So I’ve stayed at the BLUESEA Lagos de Cesar a few times now, and honestly, it’s one of those places that just works. You know what I mean? It’s right there on José González street in Puerto de Santiago – which, if you’re not familiar with this part of Tenerife, is basically the quieter cousin to the madness of Los Cristianos. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can actually hear the ocean from most rooms, but you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds that pile into the southern resorts.
The thing about this place is that it feels properly Spanish without trying too hard. I mean, sure, it’s got that familiar four-star setup with the pools and the buffet breakfast, but there’s something more authentic about it. Maybe it’s because the staff actually seems to live in the area – they’ll tell you which guachinche serves the best local wine up in the hills, or warn you that the little beach down the road gets absolutely packed on Sunday afternoons when all the locals show up. The rooms are solid, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable, and most importantly, the air conditioning actually works (learned that lesson the hard way at other places). Pro tip: try to get a room facing the water if you can – the sunset views are honestly ridiculous, and you’ll hear the waves instead of the occasional late-night chatter from the pool area.
What really sells me on this place, though, is the location. Puerto de Santiago isn’t trying to be Puerto de la Cruz or Costa Adeje – it’s just this laid-back fishing town that happens to have some decent hotels. You can walk to Los Gigantes cliffs in about fifteen minutes, which is perfect for those dramatic Instagram shots everyone’s chasing, but you can also just wander down to the little harbor and watch the fishing boats come in around 6 AM if you’re up early enough. The hotel’s rating of 7.6 feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s reliable and comfortable, and the price point makes sense. I’ve noticed they’ve been doing some updates recently too, which is always a good sign. The pool area gets decent sun until about 4 PM, and there’s usually space to sprawl out with a book, even during the busier winter months when all the northern Europeans escape down here. Just don’t expect miracles from the WiFi if you’re trying to work – it’s fine for checking messages, but uploading photos takes forever.

The breakfast was good, everything you would expect. The dinner was good and not the same every night. The location is great, right by the beach, a bus stop and a convenience store.

Good location, in quiet street. Hotel is modern,a good size-not too big and rooms are really spacious; although fairly basic were nice and clean with very comfortable beds. We found the rooms to be nice and quiet. It was good there was a fridge in the room and a kettle which we appreciated even though we were AI, often prefer to have tea and coffee in the room. This is a good standard 3 star hotel. Staff are lovely and very helpful apart from only two we encountered, but you can get that anywhere. The hotel put on an amazing Hogmany party with great entertainment and fabulous band who we had heard there earlier in the week, which both my partner and I really enjoyed-thank you.

Great hotel with good price. Nice rooms, quiet place. Good daily activities. Nice continental breakfast. Clean pool with plenty of chairs. Very close to the sea, shops, restaurants, coffee shops. Bus stops around, also not hard to find a parking place for your car around the hotel. Reception 24/7

The staff were wonderful, however there were multiple issues with the room. The bath drain was blocked with other guests hair, meaning every time I showered I was standing in water up to my ankles within seconds. There is mould around the sealant in the bath. I plugged in something to charge, came back an hour later and it was infested with tiny bugs coming out of the socket. And the shower curtain is not screwed into the wall. It fell on my head while I was showering.
