You know what struck me first about Blue Island House? It’s actually perched up on this hill – and I mean properly up there – which means you’re getting these sweeping views over Los Cristianos that honestly make the bit of extra walking totally worth it. The address says Calle los Angeles, and there’s something almost poetic about that because you really do feel like you’re floating above everything down in the main tourist zone.
I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t one of those places where you roll your suitcase right up to the front door. You’re looking at apartment 284, which gives you a sense of the scale here, and there’s a bit of a climb involved. But here’s the thing that surprised me: once you’re settled in, that elevation becomes your best friend. While everyone else is dealing with the noise and chaos of the main strip (and trust me, Los Cristianos gets properly lively, especially during peak season), you’re up here in what feels like your own little sanctuary. The 8.4 rating makes complete sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be some flashy resort, but it nails the fundamentals really well.
What I loved most was how it sits right in that sweet spot between being accessible and being peaceful. You can walk down to Playa de Los Cristianos in maybe 10-15 minutes – it’s a pleasant stroll, actually, winding through some of the older residential streets that most tourists never see. And if you’re planning day trips, the ferry terminal for La Gomera is practically right there, which is brilliant if you want to explore beyond Tenerife. The apartment itself has that solid, well-maintained feel you want from a 4-star place, though I’d say it’s more about comfort and location than luxury touches. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that endless resort paperwork nonsense. I mean, you’re essentially staying in someone’s well-appointed home rather than a hotel machine, and that shows in the details. The kitchen actually has proper equipment if you want to grab some local produce from the market down the hill, and honestly, there’s something quite satisfying about making coffee in the morning while looking out over the Atlantic instead of queuing at some hotel buffet.

Very secure, access to the pool only by residents and guests, and very well equipped apartment.

The building area is very beautiful: white walls, cozy stairs, plants. There’s a view to the sea and mountains from there.
The apartment is very clean. It has a small balcony/terrace facing the pool. There’s a microwave and a mini washing machine. WIFI connection was great.
It was quiet most of the time.
Two supermarkets are around (3 and 8 minutes walk) as well as some restaurants.
The apartments are called Port Royal, you can get there from the Sur Airport by bus 40 that gets to the main bus stop of Los Cristianos and then by taxi for €4-5 euros.
All in all, it’s a great value to money ratio, considering my Genius 3 discount.
What could be improved: Sometimes guests near the pool were loud. There was a repairment in two apartments, so workers drilled from time to time creating noise.
The location is a bit far for from touristy streets and the beach.

The location of the apartment terrace overlooking the pool was exceptional. The heated pool is excellent and the pool area very clean and spacious. A real plus.

It was such a clean and nice building. The room was gorgeous with everything being so clean and put together there was nothing wrong and everything was there that you would need including a toaster kettle iron and ironing board. Furthermore, the view of the island from that point is so so stunning coz you can walk up a little bit more and get to the mountain behind the building and see everything and watch the beautiful sunset
What could be improved: the only downside is that you have to walk up hills quite a lot as if it right up there so if you were to spend time in the main area of los cristianos you’ll have to walk up loads of hills to get back to your stay.
