You know what surprised me most about this place? The name totally undersells it. Yeah, it’s technically a “big terraced house,” but honestly, this feels more like your wealthy Spanish aunt’s weekend retreat than some basic rental. I mean, you’re literally 100 meters from the beach in El Guincho – and I’m talking about the good part of the coastline here, not some rocky afterthought.

The sea view thing is legit, by the way. From the terrace (which is where you’ll probably spend most of your time), you get this sweeping look at the Atlantic that changes completely depending on the time of day. Morning coffee out there hits different when you’re watching the light catch the waves. The BBQ setup is actually pretty decent too – proper grill, not some flimsy tourist thing that’ll fall apart if you look at it wrong. I spent a good chunk of one evening grilling some local fish I’d picked up from the market in town, and it was one of those perfect travel moments you can’t really plan for.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where it feels residential but you’re not isolated. Calle Hermanos Ponte Mendez is this quiet street that locals actually live on, so you get that authentic neighborhood vibe without the tourist chaos. The walk to the beach is literally two minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and you hit this beautiful stretch that’s never completely packed, even in summer. There’s decent parking too, which matters more than you’d think if you’re planning to explore the area. The whole northern coast is worth driving, honestly.

What really got me was the attention to detail inside. The place sleeps a good number of people without feeling cramped, and whoever set this up actually thought about how people live for a week or two. Good kitchen knives, comfortable outdoor furniture, proper shower pressure – those little things that make or break a vacation rental. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not luxury resort territory, but it’s solidly comfortable with some nice touches. That 8.9 rating makes sense too – I can see why people keep coming back here.

The only minor thing I’d mention is that El Guincho can get breezy (it’s the Atlantic, after all), so pack a light jacket even in summer. But honestly, that ocean breeze is part of what makes the terrace so perfect for those long Spanish dinners that somehow stretch until midnight. You’re far enough from the main tourist strips that you feel like you’ve discovered something, but close enough to good restaurants and that gorgeous coastline that you’re never bored. If you’re looking for that balance between authentic local experience and actual comfort, this place nails it.

  The house is big with plenty of space (we were a group of 6 people). All the rooms were well cleaned, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, and we loved dining in the terrace.

  Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme du village et la proximité de la petite plage même si la baignade était trop dangereuse cette semaine car il y avait beaucoup de houle.
  La maison est spacieuse, lumineuse et confortable avec les 4 chambres et les 3 salles de bain.
  La communication avec nos hôtes était rapide, facile et bienveillante par téléphone ou Whatsup.
  Nous avons découvert un petit restaurant à l'entrée du village qui ne paie pas de mine mais qui a un point de vue incroyable. On y mange en plus très bien.
  
  What could be improved: La vue de la terrasse nous a un peu déçus à cause des constructions en cours et la vue plongeante sur une terrasse en face de la nôtre.
  Il serait souhaitable d'augmenter le nombre de couverts.
