So I’ve stayed at Beverly Hills Suites a few times now, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you. I mean, the name sounds a bit over-the-top for Los Cristianos, but don’t let that fool you – this Excel Hotels property actually gets it right. It’s tucked away on Rodeo street, which is perfect because you’re literally a two-minute walk from the beach promenade, but far enough back that you won’t hear the late-night party crowd stumbling home from the bars along the seafront.

The location is what really sold me on this place. You know how some hotels claim to be “centrally located” but then you’re stuck hauling your luggage up some impossible hill? Well, Beverly Hills Suites sits in that sweet spot where everything’s walkable without being chaotic. The main Los Cristianos beach is right there – and I’m talking about the good part, not the rocky bits further down. Plus, if you’re planning day trips (which you should), the bus station is maybe five minutes away, and the ferry terminal for La Gomera is even closer. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season – I learned that the hard way in August – but there’s usually street parking if you’re willing to walk a block or two.

What I really appreciate about this place is that it feels like a proper 4-star without the stuffiness. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re dealing with tourist-area burnout. The rooms are spacious (I’ve stayed in both the standard and suite options), and they’ve clearly invested in decent air conditioning – trust me, that matters in July when the temperature hits 30°C and stays there. The balconies are actually usable too, not those tiny afterthoughts some places give you. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the town wake up. The pool area gets busy around midday, but early morning or late afternoon? It’s perfect. One thing though – if you’re a super light sleeper, ask for a room facing away from the street. It’s not terrible, but you’ll hear the occasional scooter or late taxi.

The breakfast spread is solid – nothing fancy, but they do proper Spanish tortilla and the coffee doesn’t taste like it came from a machine (well, it probably did, but a good one). What really sets this place apart is the little things: they’ll actually help you book restaurant reservations, the WiFi works everywhere including by the pool, and checkout is refreshingly hassle-free. That 8.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not perfect, but it nails the basics and throws in enough extras to make you want to come back. For Los Cristianos, where you’ve got everything from budget apartments to luxury resorts, Beverly Hills Suites hits that middle ground where you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth without breaking the bank.

  We checked in online so quick and efficient front desk. The resort is up a hill but we've been before so no issue for us, great taxi service with taxi rank outside hotel. Room was all we needed, beds comfortable, pool view and near reception. The furniture could be updated but loads of closet and wardrobe space plus a kitchen, staff very good. Girl looking after entertainment at the pool was excellent, very enthusiastic and quite funny. Really liked Lifeguards being proactive stopping people hogging sunbeds.
