You know what hit me first about this place? The sound. I mean, you expect ocean noise when you book something called “Beachfront Apartment,” but standing on that balcony on Calle Mesa del Mar, it’s this perfect white noise that actually helps you sleep instead of keeping you up. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – which makes sense since it’s got that 4-star rating but with way more personality than the chain places.

Mesa del Mar is one of those spots that locals in Tacoronte know but tourists somehow miss, and honestly, that’s part of what makes this place special. You’re literally steps from the volcanic rock pools (way cooler than regular beaches, trust me), and the apartment gives you this front-row seat to watch the waves crash against the black rocks. The building itself is pretty typical Canarian architecture – nothing fancy, but it works. What really got me was how the owner actually lives in the area and knows stuff like which days the local market runs and where to get the best gofio. The check-in was refreshingly normal too – no marble lobby nonsense, just practical and friendly.

Here’s the thing about staying here versus somewhere more central in Santa Cruz – you’re trading nightlife convenience for this incredibly chill vibe where you can actually hear yourself think. The apartment is well-equipped (decent WiFi, kitchen that actually has sharp knives, hot water that stays hot), and parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the city. I did notice the place gets pretty full during local holiday weekends, so the usual tourist seasons don’t really apply here. The 8.8 rating makes total sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine local experience rather than sanitized tourist stuff. Sure, you’ll need to drive or take the bus if you want to hit the bigger attractions, but sometimes you just want to wake up to ocean views and figure out the day from there.

  La ubicación era excepcional, las vistas espectaculares y el apartamento estaba totalmente equipado.El anfitrión nos dio todo tipo de facilidades para la llegada y la salida.Muchisimas gracias Alberto.

  Las vistas son mucho mejores de lo que esperábamos. La comunicación con el anfitrión fue fluida y agradable. El apartamento es amplio, cómodo y con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días. Hay una playa justo al lado del edificio y varias piscinas naturales a pocos minutos. Estuvimos muy a gusto y lo recomendamos 100%
  
  What could be improved: Por poner alguna pega, para llegar hay que bajar desde lo alto de un acantilado con varias curvas muy cerradas. Pero vale la pena por el lugar y enseguida les coges el truco. Estás apartado de todo pero si buscas tranquilidad este es tu sitio.
  Y una sugerencia: un ventilador de techo haría las habitaciones perfectas para los días de más calor 🙂

  Las vistas,el mejor lugar de la isla para ver la puesta del sol, localización,tener todos los electrodomésticos necesarios, tranquilidad de la zona ,todo en general para mí fue único!
  
  What could be improved: No tener llave de acceso a la puerta principal para el check in , tuvimos que esperar que alguien salga del edificio para poder entrar…30 min esperando en la puerta sin cobertura puede ser un poco agobiante más las obras del edificio que se puede considerar pasajero pero bueno supongo q son cosas normales que sí fuese por el dueño lo haría mejor pero el edificio es muy grande y ponerse de acuerdo sobre un único modo de acceso puede ser costoso y no todos los considerarían tan necesario!

  Alberto, el anfitrión, se preocupó por todo, se encargó de reservarnos una plaza del parking. El apartamento está muy bien ubicado, con una superterraza para comer desayunar y está como nuevo con todo tipo de utensilios y facilidades.

  What could be improved: Non e' comodissimo arrivarci ma una volta arrivati il posto e' veramente bello. Il bagno piccolo ha la doccia rotta, l'acqua viene giu' lentamente e luci da sistemare soprattutto in cucina.

  What could be improved: O estacionamento é complicado . Cheguei a espera 40 minutos . Faz falta uma máquina de lavar loiça . Faltam restaurantes ou supermercados mais perto, obriga a fazer sempre um a estrada bastante sinuosa.

  Der Ausblick war unbezahlbar. Ebenso wie der wunderschöne Naturpool vor der Haustür. Die Größe der Wohnung war auch toll. Die Schlafräume waren total in Ordnung, ebenso wie das Badezimmer. Sehr schön war der große Balkon mit einer mega Aussicht 👍. 200 Meter entfernt, war ein kleiner Laden, wo man das Nötigste bekommen hat, fanden wir sehr nützlich. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
  
  What could be improved: Gebäude von aussen sieht nicht so einladend aus . Das Sofa sowie die Duschkabine sind am Ende, müssten dringend erneuert werden. Auch die Küche ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber es war alles da was man benötigt.
