Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Barceló Tenerife – this place surprised me in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to the hotel on Calle Greñamora (honestly, GPS had me a bit confused with all the roundabouts in this area), I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another big resort complex. But you know what? Sometimes being wrong feels pretty good.
The location is actually brilliant if you’re into golf or just want to be somewhere that feels less touristy than the southern resort strips. Golf del Sur isn’t exactly a secret, but it’s got this relaxed vibe that’s missing from places like Los Cristianos – you can actually hear yourself think here. The hotel sits right in this residential area called San Blas, which means you’re getting that authentic Canarian neighborhood feel without sacrificing the five-star treatment. I mean, there’s a proper golf course literally across the street, and the staff mentioned that guests get decent green fees if that’s your thing. What I loved most was being able to walk to actual local spots for dinner – there’s this tiny tapas place about ten minutes away that the concierge recommended, and honestly, it was better than the hotel restaurant (though don’t tell them I said that).
The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a Barceló property – clean, modern, with those big windows that actually open, which is rarer than you’d think in newer hotels. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Tenerife summers), and the beds are legitimately comfortable. I stayed on the fourth floor and could see a slice of ocean between the buildings, though I wouldn’t call it a proper sea view. The pool area gets packed around midday, but early mornings and late afternoons are perfect for actually swimming laps without dodging kids with floaties. One thing that impressed me – the WiFi actually works throughout the property, even by the pool, which… well, anyone who’s traveled knows that’s not always a given.
Service-wise, the staff genuinely seems to care, and several speak decent English alongside Spanish and German. Check-in was smooth, parking is free (and trust me, you’ll want a car to explore the island properly), and the breakfast buffet has enough variety to keep you happy for a week-long stay. The hotel can feel a bit quiet in the evenings – this isn’t a party destination by any stretch – but that’s exactly what some people are looking for. If you want nightlife, you’ll need to drive toward the coast, but if you want to actually relax and maybe explore the more authentic parts of southern Tenerife, this spot hits the sweet spot between comfort and location. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s solid, reliable, and positioned perfectly for the kind of vacation where you rent a car and actually see the island instead of just the resort pool.

Nice all inclusive resorts with fun animation and nice pools. – Animation team was doing well.

Would recommand to families and people who like food in hotel. Restaurants were good.Rachel from United Kingdom (9/10)
The resort and pools are kept really clean! It's a great option for a winter holiday. Loved that there were lots of pool choices and one of them is even heated. It's more of a 4* than a 5* hotel (if not booking the royal level) but for the price it's still an amazing value holiday.

Hotel is beautiful, so aesthetic and great views. Lovely volcanic touches with black sand/cactus decoration. Big rooms with very cosy comfortable beds. Our balcony did front a nearby construction site however on the plus side, it caught more sun than the pool areas.
Definitely worth going All Inclusive here as location is quite remote. The drinks options are great even includes good strong cocktails and aperol spirtz. Good selection of buffet dinner, themed each night, and good breakfast with fresh fruit juices. Wine/prosecco poured from bottle at lunch/dinner.
Entertainment team are enthusiastic and try hard. Good range of activities run from hotel eg kayaking, segway tours, bingo, cocktail making.
Heated family pool so great for winter sun/kids.
