You know what hit me first about Ballesteros Sunset B? The name actually makes sense – and I mean that in the best way possible. Most hotels throw “sunset” in their name for no reason, but this little gem sits right on Plaza Manuel Ballesteros where you can actually catch some gorgeous evening light bouncing off the buildings. It’s this quiet square that most tourists walk right past on their way to the main drag, which honestly works in your favor. The location is sort of perfect if you think about it – you’re literally a three-minute walk from all the Puerto de la Cruz action, but when you want to escape the crowds (and trust me, you will), you just duck back to this peaceful little plaza.

The hotel itself feels like someone’s well-kept family business, which it probably is. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no complicated key card systems that never work. Just genuine folks who seem to actually care whether you have a good stay. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, nothing fancy but everything works properly. I mean, the shower had decent water pressure, the AC didn’t sound like a freight train, and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night. There’s something to be said for a place that just gets the basics right without trying to be something it’s not.

What really won me over was the little details that you only notice when you’re actually staying somewhere, not just passing through. The front desk guy (I think his name was Miguel?) knew exactly which nearby restaurants would still seat you at 10 PM on a Tuesday – turns out most places around there close earlier than you’d expect. The Plaza itself becomes this lovely local hangout spot in the evenings where you’ll see families with kids playing while the adults chat. It’s got that authentic Spanish neighborhood vibe that’s getting harder to find in the touristy parts of town. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’ve got a rental car, but there’s street parking nearby if you’re patient, and honestly, you probably won’t need the car much once you’re settled in. The bus stop for the route to Teide is practically around the corner, and you can walk to the botanical gardens in about fifteen minutes if you take the back streets. For a place with a 9.3 rating, it’s not trying to be the Ritz – it’s just doing everything well enough that you’d genuinely recommend it to someone you actually like.

  The apartment itself is fabolous. Very well built and designed, loved it. The bathroom will serve us as an inspiration for our home reconstruction one day 🙂

  What could be improved: Not enough towels , cleaning products , toilet paper , coffee capsules, and not a no welcome gesture . The playa Jardin advertised on here has sewage since the past 8 months, which prevents swimming, so there is No Beach close by to swim. This should be advised to people who book to be close to the beach !

• Moderne, hochwertig ausgestattete Wohnung in toller Lage – Andreas from Germany – 8 November 2024 (9/10)

  Wir haben erst sehr kurzfristig gebucht. Die Tür zum Haus wurde direkt nach Ankunft und WhatsApp Kontakt völlig unkompliziert per Funk geöffnet. Das Haus liegt nur 5 Gehminuten vom Loro Park in einem sehr ruhigen Bereich mit ein paar Parkplätzen in einer Sackgasse mit zentraler Rambla. Die Wohnung war nahezu neu renoviert und sehr sauber. Eine lange, kpl. eingerichtete Küchezeile mit Blick auf die Rambla, eine Couch vor einem großen zeitgemäßen Fernseher bilden den zentralen Wohnbereich. Ein großes bequemes Bett 180×200 cm mit hochwertigen  Kissen und Decken und mit einem modernem weißen Kleiderschrank findet man im Elternschlafzimmer, ein bequemes Einzelbett mit Kleiderschrank und Schminktisch im Kinderzimmer. Beide Zimmer sind durch Schiebetüren vom Wohnbereich getrennt. Das architektonische Highlight ist das dazwischenliegende Bad, durch Schiebetüren von beiden Schlafzimmern zugänglich, und mit einer begehbaren Dusche und einem Doppelwaschbecken ausgestattet. Beide Schlafzimmer haben große zweiflügelige Türen mit Blick auf die Rambla bzw. auf die tosende Brandung mit schwarzem Lavagestein direkt unterhalb des Kinderzimmers. Insgesamt eine modern und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete  Wohnung in ruhiger aber zentraler Lage. Der schwarze Sandstrand, wie auch diverse Restaurants sind in 2-3 min zu erreichen.
  Eine Reklamation am späten Abend, dass es kein warmes Wasser gäbe, wurde unmittelbar am nächsten Morgen geprüft und uns mitgeteilt, dass man das Wasser sehr lange laufen lassen muss, bis es warm wird. Also auch ein Top Service des Anbieters.
  Meine kleine Tochter war ebenfalls von dieser tollen Wohnung begeistert, sodass wir bestimmt  wiederkommen.
