Look, I’ll be straight with you about Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife – it’s one of those places that actually lives up to its five-star rating, which honestly surprised me a bit. When you’re driving down Avenida JM Galván Bello in San Miguel de Abona, you might wonder if you’re headed to the right spot because the area feels pretty residential and quiet. But that’s actually part of what makes this place work so well, especially if you’re traveling with kids or just want to escape the madness of the more touristy southern beaches.

The “Fantasia” part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff – they’ve really committed to this fantasy theme throughout the property, and I mean that in the best possible way. The pools are designed like something out of a storybook, with bridges and water features that keep kids entertained for hours while parents can actually relax nearby. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to create different zones within the resort. You know how some all-inclusives feel like one giant chaos zone? Not here. There are quieter adult areas where you can hear yourself think, and then there are the family zones where kids can be kids without anyone giving dirty looks. The restaurants – and there are several – actually serve decent food, which isn’t always a given with all-inclusive places. I was particularly impressed with their Spanish dishes, though I mean, you’re in Spain, so they better get that right.

The location in San Miguel de Abona is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’re about twenty minutes from the airport, which is perfect for those early morning flights (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when you’re hauling luggage and sleepy kids). Plus, you’re close enough to the southern beaches like Playa de las Américas if you want to venture out, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise every single day. The staff here genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they remembered our names, and when we had a minor issue with our room’s air conditioning, someone was there within fifteen minutes. Small things like that make a huge difference when you’re trying to unwind. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me; it’s not perfect (the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some areas, and good luck getting a poolside lounger if you sleep in), but it’s the kind of place where you can actually forget about the outside world for a week. If you’re looking for a proper all-inclusive experience in Tenerife without the spring break atmosphere, this is your spot.

  The property is a very large hotel. It offers lots of activities for kids.
  The food in good (nothing too great but also not bad) and the facilities area all clean.
  If you are going without the kids book a different hotel 🙂

  Excellent room, the family suite was lovely, spacious, good view of the castle, sliding doors between sleeping areas, all inclusive mini bar was a nice touch

  Fabulous hotel! Great for kids and adults! Plenty of entertainment throughout the day!
  Lots of pools and the splash park was great for the children. Plenty of food choices every night and nice to be able to go to the a la carte restaurants too.
