Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in the Canary Islands, and the Aurora in Los Cristianos honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk up to it on Paseo Dinamarca, it doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier places along the main strip – but that’s actually part of its charm. The building has this understated elegance that feels more authentic than the typical tourist hotels you’ll find closer to the beach.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth (no endless queues like at the mega-resorts), and the front desk guy – I think his name was Miguel – actually gave me useful local tips without me having to ask. You know what I mean? Like, he mentioned that the farmers market on Thursdays is worth hitting up, and that the best path down to Playa de Los Cristianos avoids the crazy crowds on Avenida Juan Carlos I. Those are the kinds of details that make a difference when you’re trying to experience a place, not just survive it.

The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully comfortable” – not trying to be a design magazine spread, but everything works properly and feels clean without that sterile hotel smell. My balcony faced inland rather than toward the water, which initially bummed me out, but it turned out to be quieter and I could actually see the mountains in the distance. The air conditioning worked well (crucial in summer, obviously), and honestly, the Wi-Fi was better than at my apartment back home. I mean, there were a few quirks – the shower pressure was a bit temperamental in the mornings, and the mini-fridge made this weird humming sound – but nothing that ruined the experience. The beds were comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night, which has definitely happened to me at other places in this price range.

Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk from the main beach area, which sounds far but is actually perfect. You get to avoid the constant noise and chaos of the beachfront hotels, but you’re still close enough to wander down for dinner or drinks without needing a taxi. There’s a little supermarket practically next door, and the bus stop for trips to other parts of Tenerife is maybe two minutes away. Parking can be tricky if you rent a car – the hotel has limited spaces and the surrounding streets get pretty packed, especially during peak season. But honestly, you probably won’t need a car much since Los Cristianos is pretty walkable and the public transport actually works here, unlike some places in Spain I could mention. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments.

  Great wee place for an easy stay near the beach and restaurants. Also very close to the Jungle park which was a great visit with our toddler.

  Was weary booking as there was no reviews but all concerns were swiftly put to bed after arriving , very modern apartment with an extremely spacious terrace and amazing view , perfect location in los cristianos and a 10 minute walk from playa de las Americas , shops open 24/7 within 100m and literally only a 30 second walk and you’re on the beach , definitely would recommend for all types of groups
  
  What could be improved: No complaints just if you are elderly or bad on your feet the apartment is only accessible via a set of stairs (approx 50 steps )

  Loved everything! Lovely apartment in a great location. Host was awesome, super helpful and friendly with great comms before and during stay. So clean it was pristine. Outside veranda was really roomy and sunny. Location ideal for beach, shops and restaurants and close to a Spar supermarket. Awesome stay!
  
  What could be improved: Only one thing I’d recommend and that’s cushioning for the sun loungers. They’re hard plastic so needed a lot of towels to try and cushion them, but they were still quite uncomfortable. Being older generation, they did make our hips and backs hurt.

  Amazing location, view. You can enjoy ocean view from the living room or from the terrace. Terrace is huge, sunny, all laundry dries fast, super comfy with a small kid. The owner is great! Always ready to help. Microwave got broken but Kemo immediately brought a new one. The bed in the bedroom is amazing, really soft one. There are no cockroaches in the apartment that is amazing cause it’s a big problem on Tenerife. Supermarket is 1 minute walk, beach is 3 min, center with Zara, Hard Rock Cafe is 10 min walk.
  
  What could be improved: The sofa is not convenient for sleep in the living room. It won’t be possible to sleep for two people, cause you’ll feel wooden crossbars. The best number of people in the apartment is two adults or two adults and kid. For adult to sleep on the sofa won’t be comfortable. It’s great to have earplugs, there is a night bar down the street, you’ll hear a bit of music and noise after 12, it’s not crucial but any way better to be ready.

  Udsigten og beliggenheden er skøn. Terrassen er stor og brugbar. Badeværelse og køkken virker relativt nyt og hvis man har brug for det, er det en vaskemaskine.
  
  What could be improved: Sengen er for blød til vores smag. Lejligheden ligger tæt på det hele og dermed skal man være indstillet på, at er der lidt støj fra vejen og bylivet.

  Het appartement is sober ingericht.
  Stoelen in eetkamer waren niet stevig.
  Buiten plastic tuinmeubilair zonder kussens waarvan 1 ligbed kapot.
  Slechte ontvangst tv.
  In de slaapkamer waren sommige dingen aan vervanging toe.
  Ivm de vele trappen die je omhoog moet is het fijn als je goed mobiel bent.
  Verstandig om oordoppen mee te nemen want er is veel geluid van de nachtbar onder aan de straat.
  Er bleek iemand via ons terras naar haar woning te moeten dus weinig privacy. Poortje werkte niet goed en stond vaak open.

  Super lokalizacja, bardzo dobry kontakt z miłym właścicielem, apartament w sam raz dla rodziny z dziećmi 2+2, czysto, wygodnie, praktycznie i przyjemnie, cudowny widok na ocean. Polecam w 100%.
