Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Tenerife apartments over the years, but Attico El Dorado apt 931 honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know how Playa de las Americas can feel a bit chaotic with all the tourists and beach bars? Well, this place sits right on Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina, which sounds fancy but it’s actually just far enough from the main strip that you’re not hearing drunk Brits singing football chants at 3 AM. The building itself has this sort of understated elegance that I wasn’t expecting from the photos – I mean, the lobby actually smells like fresh flowers instead of that weird hotel cleaning solution most places use.

What really got me was the apartment itself. It’s on the ninth floor (hence the 931, I’m guessing), and honestly, the views are ridiculous. You can see straight out to La Gomera on clear days, and the sunsets… well, let’s just say I spent way too much time on that balcony with a glass of local wine instead of exploring the island like I’d planned. The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile – there’s good cookware in the kitchen, the WiFi actually works everywhere (tested it thoroughly during a work call), and the bed is one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed. Small thing, but the shower pressure is fantastic, which matters when you’ve been hiking around Teide all day and you’re covered in volcanic dust.

The location is what sealed it for me, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk to Los Cristianos beach, which is way more chill than the main Playa de las Americas stretch – better for actual swimming rather than just posing for Instagram. There’s this little Mercadona just around the corner where you can grab groceries without the tourist markup, and if you walk down toward the port, you’ll find where the locals actually eat (try the tapas place with the blue awning – can’t remember the name, but the calamari is incredible). The apartment building has decent parking too, which is a godsend if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the island properly. I mean, parking in this area usually costs more than the car rental itself. The whole setup just works – it’s got that rare combination of being close enough to everything you want but far enough away from everything you don’t.

  When we arrived the host greeted us and was very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was really nice, clean and a perfect location to beach/bars and restaurants. The host was very helpful too. The pool area was nice and clean too and always nice and quiet. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will be back to El Dorado again.
