You know what struck me first about Atlantic Sunrise? It’s not your typical hotel setup at all – you’re actually staying in apartment 309 on the third floor of a residential building on Avenida Maritima, which honestly makes it feel more like you’re crashing at a friend’s place than checking into some corporate chain. The whole vibe is refreshingly low-key, and I mean that in the best way possible. Getting there is straightforward enough since Avenida Maritima runs right along the coast, though fair warning – parking can be a bit of a treasure hunt during peak season. The building itself has that lived-in Spanish apartment feel, complete with the slightly temperamental elevator that adds character (or builds character, depending on your perspective).

What really sells this place is the location, and I’m not just throwing around travel-speak here. You’re literally steps from the waterfront, which means you can actually hear the waves from your room – not traffic, not construction, just proper ocean sounds. The Santa Cruz port area is right there, so you’ve got that authentic working harbor atmosphere during the day, but it quiets down beautifully in the evenings. Walking to the city center takes maybe fifteen minutes tops, and you’ll pass some genuinely good local spots that most tourists never discover because they’re staying in the hotel zones. The morning light coming off the Atlantic is something else – hence the name, I suppose – and if you’re an early riser, you’ll understand why they called it that.

Here’s the thing about Atlantic Sunrise: it punches above its weight class for a 3-star place. The apartment-style setup means you actually have space to spread out and live a little, not just crash between sightseeing marathons. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine local flavor without the sterile hotel experience. Sure, it’s not going to have a concierge in a fancy uniform or turndown service, but honestly? You’re in Santa Cruz de Tenerife – you want to be out exploring the city, not hanging around a hotel lobby. The staff knows the area inside and out, which is worth its weight in gold when you need dinner recommendations that aren’t tourist traps. I’d say this spot works best for people who want to feel like temporary locals rather than pampered guests, and there’s definitely something to be said for waking up in a real neighborhood instead of a hotel bubble.

  Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The apartment was impeccably clean, and the staff went above and beyond with their helpfulness and patience. We loved the beautiful area, the stunning beach view, and the excellent facilities provided. While the location is a bit secluded, it offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy scenic drives, if you rent a car and to just simply experience the island's beauty. The locals were so friendly, and the pool was pristine. We wholeheartedly recommend this amazing apartment to anyone traveling to Tenerife!

  Apartment is clean, beautiful and with exeptional view. You will be awaken by wonderful sunrise above the ocean with the first sunrays shining right to your bed ♡
  The place is great if you like your privacy, very quiet but still close to the promenade with variety of restaurats and bars. Its really easy to park here and its also pretty great starting spot if you want to travel around the Island.
  Apartment has everything you would think of, we did not miss anything. Only one small floss was a bit old and smelly towels, but once theyre replaced by new onces, everything will be just perfect 🙂

  What could be improved: The GPS indicated the apartment was in Santa Cruz. This was confusing. After calling host he corrected location to Candelaria. Host was very patient with directions. Finding parking is a challenge. Apartment has limited parking. Close to bus stops and many restaurants. Especially recommend Stefano’s and Fruit Store up the street. Highly recommend. Would stay again.

  Beach view was great but that’s about it.
  
  What could be improved: Very old building, the apartment needs a lot of improvements. Old towels.There is roaches even though there is traps all over the apartment , the bathroom sinks are clogged ( had to use a special product to fix it picture attached ),the water heater is small ( 25 liter only) so you’ll have to wait for your turn to shower,and by the way when I contacted the host he said ( you’re just going to have to deal with it) so rude.

  What could be improved: No airco (was sometimes to hot even during our stay in winter) and no way to keep the sun out from living room.
  Poor maintenance : a lot of dust on plastic plants and picture frame, power socket not well fixed, shower with black mold and calcified, an Ikea cooking pan too damaged to use, dead insect in drawer, batteries in remote control tv down, door to terrace cannot close.
  Found dead cockroaches in the appartment andl in the stairway from the building (there were multiple plastic insect traps in the corners of the apartment)

  We hebben een heel fijne 10 daagse gehad in dit appartement! Het terras is echt een dik pluspunt waar je de zonsopgang kan zien. Wij vonden de locatie ideaal omdat het in een rustig niet toeristisch deel van Tenerife lag waar je op het strand kan liggen tussen de locals. Daarnaast is het 40 min rijden naar het zuiden en 30 min naar het noorden. Grote supermarkten zijn ook in de buurt en de keuken is uitgerust waardoor je een uitgebreide maaltijd kan maken. De communicatie met de host was helemaal in orde, super vriendelijk.
  
  What could be improved: Een paar keukengerei en de matras zijn aan vernieuwing toe maar dat zou ons absoluut niet tegenhouden om niet terug te keren.
