Look, I’ll be straight with you about Atico Garamar – this place surprised me in the best possible way. When I first pulled up to Calle Cirilo Rolo de Armas (and honestly, good luck pronouncing that without practice), I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes the most memorable places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you.

The location is actually genius if you know Garachico at all. You’re literally a two-minute walk from those famous volcanic rock pools that everyone posts on Instagram, but here’s the thing – you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear tour groups chattering at sunrise. The apartment itself sits in this converted building that feels authentically Canarian, not like those cookie-cutter hotel chains that could be anywhere. I mean, the address might be a mouthful, but once you find it, you’ll remember exactly where it is because it just fits into the neighborhood so naturally. The check-in was refreshingly simple – no stuffy lobby nonsense, just practical and friendly.

What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect at this price point. The balcony (which I’m assuming is what the “Atico” refers to) gives you these glimpses of the ocean between the traditional buildings, and in the evenings, you can actually hear the waves hitting the rocks down at the natural pools. The kitchen was properly equipped – I’m talking real cooking equipment, not just a hot plate and a prayer. And honestly, with Garachico’s limited restaurant options (charming as they are), being able to grab supplies from the local market and cook dinner while watching the sunset was perfect. The whole place felt clean and well-maintained, which matters more than fancy amenities when you’re trying to relax. Sure, it’s not luxury – the Wi-Fi occasionally acts up, and the shower pressure isn’t going to win any awards – but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the fundamentals and gets them right. An 8.9 rating doesn’t happen by accident, and after spending time here, I totally get why people keep coming back. It’s one of those spots that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a little secret in Garachico, even though you probably found it online like everyone else.

  The location was perfect, right next to the Old Town Square, making it easy to explore the area. Public parking was available at the end of the street, which was convenient. The apartment itself was excellent—it had everything we needed and more. The instructions for key pickup were very clear and informative, making check-in hassle-free.
  Overall, a fantastic stay in a great location with all the necessary amenities. Would definitely recommend!

  Booking this apartment saved me, I booked late at night and the host was so kind, left the keys in the lockbox and I was able to get the best sleep of my life. Thank you so much. Highly recommend this place, it is so clean, soooo quiet and in the heart of the beautiful town of Garachico.

  An excellent location for us. We had a hire car and whilst there was no parking associated with the apartment, we were lucky to find free parking each night. Some extra kitchen linen for a two-night stay would be good together with information about where to take out rubbish. Good to have a clean bathroom and a useful kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: Two fans would be good – one for the bedroom and one for the loungeroom as very humid in the apartment.

  Everything.
  The owner is very well organized, very nice and helpful.
  The apartment is very clean, very well equipped. We travel with our baby, so it was very comfortable for us to stay in this appartment. Everything you would need is available.
  The localization is very central in Garachico, but it is very calm. We sleep with the windows open.
  We liked the view from the window on the mountain.
