Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Camino el Guincho, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s this winding road that curves up through La Laguna, and you know what? That’s actually the first hint that Atico de la Pardela is something special. The name itself means “petrel’s attic” (learned that from the owner), and once you’re up there, it makes perfect sense.

The thing about this place is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re technically in La Laguna – which, by the way, is way more interesting than most people realize – but you feel like you’re tucked away from everything. I mean, you’re close enough to walk into the old town center with its cobblestone streets and those gorgeous colonial buildings, but far enough up the hill that you actually get some peace and quiet. The mornings are incredible here because you catch these views that stretch out toward the coast, and there’s this fresh mountain air that honestly makes you want to just sit with your coffee a bit longer than planned.

What really got me was how the place feels more like staying at someone’s thoughtfully designed home than a typical hotel. The owners clearly put effort into the details – there’s local art on the walls, the furniture has character (not that generic hotel stuff), and the whole setup just works. Parking isn’t a nightmare like it can be in the town center, which is a blessing if you’re planning to explore the island. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything you need, and the beds are actually good – I’m picky about that stuff. What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night. You’re away from the main tourist drag, so you don’t get the late-night noise that can plague other spots in the area.

The location really shines when you realize how easy it is to get to both the historic parts of La Laguna and the hiking trails that wind through the Anaga mountains. I spent one morning walking through the old university quarter (La Laguna is a UNESCO World Heritage site, which not everyone knows), then drove twenty minutes to these incredible forest trails that feel like you’re in a different world entirely. That’s the beauty of staying here – you’re positioned perfectly to experience both sides of this part of Tenerife. The rating of 9 out of 10 makes sense to me because while it’s not luxury in the traditional sense, it delivers exactly what you want: a genuine local experience, solid comfort, and that feeling like you’ve discovered something that’s not on every tourist’s radar. Plus, the value is spot-on for what you get.

It is a remote place with a beautiful view and surrounding nature. It looks just like on the picture. Nice space with different amenities and a large terrasse. A welcoming host. Convenient checkout.

As a note, remoteness means a car would be more convenient if one plans to visit around while staying at the location, taking a bus will require more planning, take this into account.

The view from the terrace is incredible. It overlooks the ocean.
The place is like a penthouse, you have a kitchen, bathroom, terrace, everything you need. Too bad we stayed only for 2 nights.
    Self check-in is available.

Perfect place to disconnect and live right at the ocean. Sleeping to the sound of waves and waking up to them, and the view from the large terrace was the highlight. The location is so private, and in such a local part of Tenerife that you can explore this part of the island without the tourists and commercialisation that you see in other parts of the island. The house is so well equipped and decorated so tastefully that you want to spend time there. Host is wonderful and super responsive. One of my most favourite stays in the entire two months of being on the Canary island and twice in Tenerife. Wifi is available but only in a couple of places in the house, which adds to the feeling of total disconnect from usual routine of life. Highly recommended for a long stay.

I couldn’t get enough of the view you get first thing in the morming. The pictures pf this place are already amazing, but it is impossible to show the true beauty of the property. You wake up to the sound of the ocean and have breakfast in the terrace while sun kisses your cheeks. I have never felt this calm. Take a dip in the natural pool nearby and make sure to visit a local fishermans restaurant 5 mins away. Ask the owner. And yes, lastly – the owner. He is a super sweet and caring person. Gave us a load of tips, showed us around and was always ready to help. He was born to be a host. I wish all the best for him, he deserves it. I will fldefinitely be back!

Absolutely amazing view. That was a main reason we decided to choose this apartment and it still was better than we imagined. It's very quiet here (neighbourhood), but you can easily hear waves during a day and during a night.
The apartment is not modern, but definitely has a soul.
The host is super nice and friendly. I loved everything here.
